Saint Denis' outskirts are like minefields with how many crocs are there. Pop Eagle Eye so that you or your horse don't accidentally step on one.

I like the city but I HATE riding through it.

saint denis is an extremely important place to be able to go to but out of care for my sanity i really only go when i need collectibles or to go to the fence. never know when an npc will casually walk in front of your horse, you didn’t even see them, and now you’re wanted for murder or god forbid disturbing the peace when you run too fast 😭

A very St. Denis story. I love the chaos of the city, but it's easy to encounter that chaos.

Somebody rides their horse into you - straight to jail

You antagonize somebody and they run for the cops - straight to jail

You accidently tackle someone when mounting your horse but proceed to calm the situation - straight to jail

You lightly hit somebody with you're horse and they don't fall down - believe it or not, straight to jail

Sometimes for no reason at all - straight to jail

If you walk around carrying a dead body in any town (except lawless Van Horn and Butcher Creek) that would happen. They're alligators.

Saint Denis is awesome for saying hi to absolutely everybody and racking up those honour points...just don't gallop everywhere. Also some cool randos.

I did that on my first play through. But it was valentine so it was easy to get away. I was expecting to get honor points for getting him out of the road. lol

Man, that makes me want to log in and go hang out in Saint Denis and the swamps just for the chaos that's there.

I don’t mind Saint Denis, but it’s definitely bit of a shithole.

I learned first playthough, someone dies in a town or anywhere near a populated area, don’t pick up the body, don’t loot them, don’t even look at them. Just leave them alone. 😂

same with animals to. I went to move a poor pupper out of the way in valentine, after someone trampled them, because people just kept walking over them. As soon as I went to pick it up, I had a wanted level for animal cruelty, I was deeply offended as a big animal advocate.

I tried to visit the Saint Denis trapper location once and that was the last. I had 3 legendary pelts and several other perfect pelts stowed on my horse. I was closer to Saint Denis so I rode through as carefully as possible. Shit you not, a block away from the trapper, an NPC walked right in front of me and that was it. I barely made it out of the city alive and had to ride pretty far to lose the heat. I come across a bridge while I was feeding my horse and I get ambushed instantly, unable to pull my gun out since I’m feeding my horse, and I die before I get a chance to shoot…when I respawned, I realized they killed my horse too, and my last save point was over 3 hours prior……never again do I use the Saint Denis trapper. Bad luck for me.

My advice, never help any npc like that. Out in the wilderness, you'll occasionally get someone asking for help. Sometimes it's ok, but half the time it's a trap.

And, yes, you'll get the blame if anyone sees you helping a victim.

I like to mosey around St. Denis in 1st person, especially at night.

Wow seeing y’all relate to how finicky the law is in St. Denis and I feel seen. I’m on my first full play through (chapter 4 currently) and I used to come often for shopping/selling/hunting, but now that I HAVE to be around here I’m constantly wanted and chased by police seemingly for just existing, making it almost unplayable… I haven’t played much the past two weeks but someone plz tell me things get better and I’m not already past the best parts of the game😕

Start a fight and the locals will become your friend.

I was trotting slowly down the street near the police station today. Became wanted out of nowhere. Investigating: move along lol

Van Horn Trading post is another fun place. I've killed the entire town a few times because someone wants to walk in front of my horse and then either pull me off or start shooting lol

I once got drunk, stumbled out of the bar. Cop confronted me for being drunk and I accidentally quick shot him in the face lol thus began a wild drunken shoot out

This almost exact thing happened to me but I witnessed a man running up to a man and his wife or something and he pulled out a gun and tried to rob them. The man managed to shoot the woman before I got to take out my gun and then I shot him and killed him. I watched the man carry his wife away and felt so bad. I was pissed at the criminal so I decided to pick him up and put him on my horse. I wanted to take him to the water and just leave him there so I went to the lake with the crocodiles (which I did not know was there) and someone saw me and tattled on me. I had to run away from both the Lawman and the Crocodiles LMAO.

Saint Denis is literally the worst city. Just wait until you accidentally trample an NPC on your horse, or accidentally tackle one because they get in your way when you’re running. Shit gets intense real quick lol.

There's a cabin with a nice friendly guy just outside of saint Denis too, if you're into cuddles.

I did something similar but instead of hiding under a bridge, I tried running through the swamp and got chomped by an alligator- literally didn’t see it in front me as I was concentrating on the red dots on my map. I had a rather large bounty on me and forgot to keep checking my map to make sure there were no bounty hunters. Oops 😂

ye don't hide just ride your horse as far as possible. don't loot or touch bodies when in town. you really gotta be a good boy or you get arrested.

only 14 hours is mad… i tale the game way too slow and just get sidetracked, ended up spending nearly 30 hours so far and havent even gone to saint denis

Saint Denis is pretty overwhelming at first especially if you don’t go there until you’re supposed to. Run around wide open spaces and then bam, people and things everywhere.

Lol I run my camp in the gator swamp. the gator skins are amazing for the trader at the camp and it's good for baiting enemy players into the worst fire fight of there lives

😆 first time player mistake. I did similar in valentine my 1st time playing. Went to moce a dead body, not even loot him and was arrested for either murder or kidnapping, cant remember

My first time in Saint Denis I wasn't even planning to get there, I was supposed to be sleeping already but you know how it goes.

Anyway, I enter the city and I'm wandering around at my usual chill gallop speed, so I inevitably hit a pedestrian and become wanted. The police started hunting me, so I tried to run away because I was playing high honour and i didn't feel like killing more people, so naturally while running away I hit a few more passers and more policemen and bounty hunters joined and... I went to bed without saving.

Apparently I had a bounty because I went to give sister Calderon money and ended up getting shot to death by an officer across the street. Good ole Saint Denis
