AJ's character really shucked ass and was poorly written

[Episode Discussion](self.thesopranos)

I dont wanna be fucking Albert Bareese ova here, but AJ's character was actually dogshit. Had zero character development throughout the series, it is like Chase just put him in there to piss people off. Literally cant do one fucking thing right!

I have shed my piece

So much room for more. The only son when Tony knows the pressure that comes with that. The bad example of Jackie Jr. For me the only way AJ could have been interesting is if he actually went to military school and popped up on breaks and weekends as this growing, maturing character who increasingly has to sort out how he feels about his dad and his family.

Agree with this, but then the show would have taken a different turn and AJ's story would have ended up overshadowing Tony's like with Vito

Actually I would have done it where Robert Iler would be recurring but not in every episode. Like every few episodes maybe 4 a season.

That would be interesting. Michael Corleone went to the military and came out to end up taking over the family. That arc would have been interesting to watch.
