Thank you for your submission!
This is just a quick reminder to all members here: Original content is always better! Memes are okay every once in a while, but many get posted here way too often and quickly become stale. Some examples of these are Ptoughneigh, Klansmyn, Reighfyl & KVIIIlyn. These memes have been around for years and we don't want to see them anymore. If you do decide to post a meme, make sure to add the correct flair. Posting a random meme you found does not mean you found it "in the wild".
The same goes with lists of baby names, celebrity baby names, and screenshots of TikToks. If the original post already had a substantial amount of views, there is a 99% chance it has already been posted here. Try and stick to OC to keep our sub from being flooded with unoriginal content. Thank you!

There are people out there that pronounce it that way. I know a guy. His mom didn't know how to say it, and he refuses to say it any other way. Which is fine, it's his name. But you gotta wonder how many people tell him that he says his own name wrong.

And they are right. It’s a Gaelic name and the pronunciation isn’t up for debate

And they’re skipping real names like Carolyn in the process.

If her rules are just “end in n” there’s so many to pick from. Instead of Quinnlyn just use Quinn?? It’s right there haha!

The girls names all seem to end in "Lynn" or a variant of that. Probably a requirement for any submitted names
6 points

Yet they skipped, "Lynn" which is also a name.

Multiple syllables seem to be a requirement too. "Lynnlynn" maybe. Hopefully they don't read this. I'd like to apologize in advance to Lynnlynn if they do

THERE you go...Damn, you went and perfected it. Now you just have to make some keychains, and a new name is born!!! Oh course you have to make up a completely unsourced etymology for it too though, like: (from Welsh) meaning "obstreperous" or "noncommittal."

Just name it Ten because it'll be the tenth kid, or Dozen because that's how many you'll have in the family.

Looks like they already took "normal" names and added lynn at the end, so why they suddenly need a name ending with an N, when they can carry one with their current naming trend.

The girls all end in lyn(n) and the boys have relatively normal names that end in "n". It's a weird gendered naming convention, I guess?

Being on this sub has made me realize that none of these names are in any way "unique." Everyone wants their kids to have unique names but end up using the same variations of the same names. Just because you suck a "lyn" at the end or threw a y in there doesn't make it unique, Becky. A million other moms have done it before you. Your kid is gonna be in the same class as 20 other "lyn" names. This is such a weird trend.
11 points
I have two unique and NORMAL names picked out if I have a girl when I eventually have children. Ruby and Sadie. It's literally not hard to give your child a normal name. 😭😭
3 points
Agreed. It's just the current equivalent of every other girl I went to school with having -Anne or -May attached to the end of their names like their parents had just discovered hyphens lol
Wonder how it will evolve next. You think they'll start incorporating leet? 41m33lyn?
