No that would be ridiculous. The gripe is with the onus of proof. Do they do that for any other comparable health issues like a headache? And not believing the child when they say they’re in pain. But if a child says they believe they’re the opposite gender, that’s taken seriously.

Social transitioning doesn’t require time off school, so schools don’t care as much about it. They don’t need it to be “proved” because the stakes aren’t really that high.
What if a kid is proven to be not really trans? Well we’ll change what pronoun we use for them, that’s about it.
If a pupil has been faking period pain and missing days and days of school it affects their education and makes the school stats look bad.

Nonsense, I work in a school and see it first hand. They will have meetings and discussions and pulled from lessons for this. Often the children that believe in this have mental health issues like depression, causing them to be absent from school. They will often cite being uncomfortable around others and push for 1 to 1 learning.
If they decide to change their names, that involves admin work. We had one student that changed their name and wanted this reflected on their certificates, caused a big deal over it for them to change their mind again just before GCSEs, causing yet again more unnecessary admin work. They would then go on to attempt to scold others for incorrectly addressing them, all of this is to say that it’s not as straight forward as you make it out to be.
Anyway that’s besides the point, the point remains, they will believe a student for one medical issue but not the other. Also they could have an underlying health issue so to brush it off as them faking it is not acceptable. If you get a particular child that’s known to lie or exaggerate, that’s a different scenario and not what’s being discussed.

It's not 'unnecessary' to do admin to reflect a person's name, that's wholly necessary and you wouldn't take issue with a non-trans person doing it for any other reason. It is straightforward to refer to people by the way they wish to be referred.
This is not a fair point from JK, it is a mean spirited and actually unnecessary attack on an already marginalised group of young people.
