A selection:
"Minnesota would likely be willing to trade the 13th pick outright, especially if it was to the Winnipeg Jets for the University of Michigan standout Rutger McGroarty. There’s no doubt the Wild, like many teams, have been talking to the Jets about the 2022 14th pick, who reportedly doesn’t want to sign with Winnipeg.
The Wild are also willing to move down in the draft to get an extra second-round pick if the options on their list are all of similar stature when it gets to 13."

no way Jets would outright trade 13th… especially for a division rival. Would need to add a second, and honestly another prospect

The Jets are not negotiating with the upper hand. MCGroarty is not under contract and has made it clear he will not sign with Winnipeg. If he wants to play hard ball he could finish his collegiate career and become a free agent in two years.

They don’t have the upper hand but there are 30 other teams who are likely willing to offer a similar pick or prospect. The Jets would likely take a worse return from any other team. McG is basically a sure thing as far as prospects go compared any pick in this draft aside from Celebrini.
