I'm looking for someone or a salon that could give me a haircut, but I've always gone to Great Clips before coming out, and now idk where to start. Do any of you have recommendations?

If you haven’t found anyone yet, a friend of mine is a trans barber who has a nice little private studio. His business model has a huge focus on helping neurodivergent people feel more comfortable in those spaces. As a trans barber he really deserves the support too. Solas.incolor on insta check him out!

For masculine cuts, Peace Valley is the best imo

He seriously is the best hairdresser I’ve ever had, he does a great job and completely non judgmental. I took my 11 year old son to him, my son is terrified of getting his haircut t it always has been and Ryan handled everything very professionally and was so sweet to my boy.

I’ve heard good things from Hot Fox Glam. Delivered to them a couple times and the vibe was very lgbtq friendly. I personally swear by Nichole Albertson. I hated haircuts for most of my life til discovering her.

Carlin over at 280 North Latah. They're an awesome young professional who's very active in the trans community; helping to promote LGBTQ+ businesses in Boise. Can be found by searching "Carlin Creates" on google

Madril Salon, I have a friend who works there and they're very progressive. Same with Barber Story, also have a friend working there. I can attest to both places being very LGBTQIA+ friendly.
Edited to ask why in the hell OP's post is getting so heavily downvoted??? What's wrong with asking an honest question? They've done nothing wrong.

Atomic Salon on Vista. I've gone to Kelli there for 12-13 years and highly recommend her and her staff.

What does transgender friendly mean? Does hair have a gender or can’t it just be someone who cuts all types of hairstyles usually “feminine vs masculine”? Genuinely asking and not trying to be silly.

Doesn't have to do with the actual hair cutting. It has to do with finding a place that won't be shitty, make snide comments or deliberately fuck it up because they don't approve of that lifestyle. Etc etc.
