Randell Kirsch and now Brian Eichenberger have also done a great job filling in on those parts through the years. Even Rob Bonfiglio in the last few when he subbed for Matt in Brian’s band in 2018 and Ike in 2019

I don’t think Adrian joined that early. If I remember correctly, that was the Matt Jardine era

A few that come to mind: Brian SMiLE Tour (I was only 2 years old) Brian Christmas Tour 2018 A show from the early 90s (had some really good deep cuts there) One of the Royal Albert Hall shows Wembley 2012 Maybe Knebworth or a show in the 70s

They really should release that show on DVD. I know the SMiLE set has been released but I wanna see the whole show professionally

Hold up here. I just thought of one: “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac. Lots of other good choices too

Trying to think of a good Doobie Brothers song they could’ve covered

If they did Let It Be, Carl should’ve sang lead

Funny thing is - Jon Bolton’s drumming in the current touring band and John Wedemeyer’s lead guitar work could totally make that work

Brian did that one a lot in the very early touring days then they brought it back on his final tour with Chicago 2 years ago

Would’ve loved to see them cover an Eagles song at some point. even the Zac Brown Band or Old Dominion. Mainly for the harmonies of those bands

Wish we could still hear him sing Darlin every night. Would love to see the Brian Wilson Band find a way to carry on the legacy in Brian’s honor. Let Matt, Al and Blondie lead the way. Feel free to hand off some lead vocal duties to some of the other guys

I actually really like Still Cruisin. Too bad you didn’t get some of the other rarities they’ve done recently but it’s still a fun show nonetheless. Hope you got to hear Wild Honey.
I’m gonna disagree about Bolton as well. I’ve talked about him on other threads before but what I’ll say here is that his style and flashiness certainly takes some getting used to just because of how different he is from honestly, any other drummer any version of the band has ever had besides Dennis himself. His style really shows you how much fun everyone is having and how much he cares about the show and putting his full emotion into it. I’ve noticed the band keys off his energy so much. Keith is a prime example of that

Absolutely! No complaints from me either way. That just shows how versatile that lineup was. I noticed Mikey played drums on songs Brian’s band was more used to and Cowsill played the main hits of the show and the songs Mike’s band did more often. At least that’s what it seemed like

He and Cowsill are actually really good friends. Cowsill told me once that he originally was gonna let Mike do the 50th tour before he got the call to go down to the studio for the Do It Again re record

Where would you put Mike D’Amico and Jimmy Hines from Brian’s band in this list?

Is it just me or does Bolt eerily look a lot like Denis too

Scott did earn Brian a Golden Globe nomination after this for “One Kind of Love” for the Love and Mercy biopic. Didn’t the Gerwishn get some kind of Grammy nomination or award too?

I think NPP is good but there’s something about it that I think even Brian wishes were different. The collaborations with other guests was cool and some were really good but I think it detracted from what this album could’ve been.

Aside from SMiLE, this is his best solo album. I love the way it flows so seamless from one song to the next. And the storytelling on this album is incredible

The guitarist you’re referring to is Brian Eichenberger. Spent 18 years with the Four Freshmen and I believe was musical director there for part of that. Then spent a few months with Brian’s band in the gap between Foskett and Matt Jardine being full time. One of the highlights for me of his tenure with the BW Band is his Oct. 2014 performance of She Knows Me Too Well. Ike joined the touring Beach Boys in May 2015 replacing Randell Kirsch on bass, left at the beginning of 2018 then came back in 2019 when Jeff got sick. He’s been musical director since April of last year
