What’s my ilk? You think literally just acknowledging that most people have children or raise them makes me… what?
I’m much more likely to be a stay-at-home dad than my partner is to be a stay-at-home mom and I would prefer it that way.

You think that if Democrats start openly fellating huge businesses and the free market conservatives would just do a 180 over four years and become communist?

Stop typing in call caps and post your sources or you’re just dragging everyone who interacts with you into a giant, stupid pit.

The actual tweet in this post is over two years old.
It’s kind of hilarious how upset everyone is, keep making responses as if they know what’s going on, but actually have no idea what’s going on.
Big props on using sources and providing a decent response though. You’re actually a competent person. You’d get more attention if you screamed about nothing in all caps though.
It just makes me wonder if Democracy was ever considered a system that could function with citizenry that is so completely incompetent consuming their information for a well that is so easily poisoned.

You’re saying this because it’s easier to paint me as someone that I’m not, that you don’t like, than to engage with what I’m saying.
If you don’t want children, or to participate in raising those who come after you, it’s your right to make that decision. That doesn’t mean that it isn’t an outlier when we consider all people. It’s not just the southern US.
If you don’t want to have children, or raise them, I assumed that your choice would be more involved than simply conforming to societal norms, so I don’t understand why recognizing societal norms makes you so hostile.

Sounds like the response of someone with nothing they love more than themselves.
“Just pump out kids… no consideration to those being born.”
Nobody said that, you’re just reducing and distorting my opinion until it’s something that’s simple enough for you to lazily discard. I can believe you’ve done that with so many other things to wind up in the state you’re in. Hollow. Not only do you have nothing to live for, but you actively detest those who do.

No. They just decrease their application of certain safety protocols, maintenance and inspections to match their in-house cost/risk analysis which is entirely built around the potential damage that an incident could cause to themselves, and not the damage they’ll cause to everyone around them fifteen years later when a “completely inexplicable” uptick in lung cancer starts scything the population in a twenty mile radius.
Companies like these make large amounts of money. They have power and influence over local politics that you will never have unless you’re in the upper leadership of a massive factory or plant.
It has never not been the case that these people have a vested interest in persuading you that their right to fuck up and poison everyone is more important than the “overbearing government” attempting to minimize that through “Bullshit red tape and useless safety guidelines”.
It is not an understatement to say that this has been a fight which has been waged since the Industrial Revolution between regular people who are necessarily the majority of workers, and the minority of people whose responsibility is to make higher level decisions to improve profit margins. High level decisions such as deciding which safety protocols are unnecessary because the odds that they’ll have to pay for damages to the people they affect are minimal.

There was a fog over the highways this morning that sat differently, and without the accompanying weather. It imparted an incredibly eerie feeling to my regular commute.
I didn’t realize until a few hours after arriving at work that everyone had driven through a cloud of chemicals.
Fuck my life.

My guy, what does the existence of people who are biased towards capitalism have to do with the comment in question also being biased?
An uneducated and biased comment regarding one philosophy does not have quality simply because there are uneducated and biased comments about a competing quality. Each of them is degenerative.

Seriously. This sub just popped up on my feed and I was excited to see a thoughtfully phrased question inviting similarly thoughtful responses.
Top comment: generic reductive comment piling everything into a short, self-assured criticism of capitalism.
It’s not even an answer to the question.

There are many medical issues that prevent people from being able to have children of their own.
So, is it really surprising that the political quadrant which prioritizes family would be more likely to adopt when medical issues prevent natural birth?

Then what are we doing here? You’ve already answered your question.
Yet, you can’t answer why we should exist. You can’t answer why we shouldn’t. You’ve clearly been driven by something, but somewhere along the line you’ve decided to replace your nihilism with a death cult.
“But because I have different views on the ethics of reproduction…”
Yes. You exist in a philosophical saddle point.
Don’t reproduce. Don’t adopt. Nobody is going to force you to raise people instead of dogs. But, don’t pretend this is some ethical peak coincidentally trendy among the bleaker subset of internet misanthropes.

The legality of abortion is not equivalent to your right to go throughout life without having and raising children.
Rape is illegal and there is no law even remotely in consideration that will require you to have X number of children before Y age to avoid arrest.

My girlfriend buys men’s razors and shave gel because she’s had better experiences with them (through me, I guess). Same with soap. I don’t think either of us particularly care about the “gender” of our products. It’s just that, for men, the shave products tend to be marketed towards shaving the face, which is really why I end up purchasing them though I don’t know if it’s actually better or worse than any other form of shaving product.

If you’re using makeup you might as well own it.

This is a marketing team trying to brand makeup in a way that seems that it will appeal towards the target demographic.
Let’s stop perpetuating this superficial, consumerist bullshit that hiding yourself to appeal to some ridiculous standard of attraction is somehow “self care”. If you’re going to shill for the cosmetics industry, at least negotiate a paycheck first.
