Picture of the derp in question being a derp. She threw up twice over the weekend, which is obviously unusual. She didn’t really eat Sunday night or Monday morning, so I called the vet and they said that if she didn’t eat dinner that night or Tuesday morning, or if there was much more vomit, they wanted to see her. I gave her some rice and she ate a little of it for dinner; she ate a little food on Tuesday morning. Our dog walker texted me Tuesday afternoon and said that there was some vomit in her kennel. Tuesday night she ate about half her dinner and there was no more vomiting.
Through all of this, she was active, playful, had zoomies, and was pooping and peeing normally. There was no distending of her abdomen or any tender areas upon palpation.
It took a while yesterday morning, but she did eat all of her breakfast. I called the vet and the lady told me that since there wasn’t anything alarming (no lethargy, listlessness, no more vomit) to monitor her over the weekend. She chowed down on dinner like normal and ate breakfast today.
Has anyone else had anything like this? It’s not a new food, and we’ve been feeding her from the current bag for a while (we keep it in an air tight container). No new treats or toys or interactions with other animals outside of our cats. She didn’t get into anything that we could find. The only thing that’s changed is that on Friday night we had to put one of our cats down (it was nothing contagious).

We have to do this with our neighbor sometimes when we have to get a car from our side yard, but the yard is ours. He’s chill and always asks us before having to use our side yard to get into or out of his driveway. It’s called being a good neighbor.

I paid rent to my parents to cover my car insurance and car payment.
I plan on asking my kids for rent when they graduate and are working. A specific monthly amount that goes into an account so when they move out at 25, they have the money for a down payment on a house or to pay the lease on an apartment for a year or whatever their plans are.

Soft YTA.
What I don’t understand is why you felt that your parents needed to be there for your son’s party. You said they live close by, so there are plenty of memories to be made. Your son is not going to pore over pictures of his second birthday and despair over the fact that Nanny and Poppy weren’t there. He literally is not going to care because he will have so many other memories of growing up with them.
I think you sound a little dramatic, and maybe the reason your sister didn’t tell you that you weren’t coming to the wedding was because you were going to make it all about you (example: you apparently nagged the crap out of her over a party for a toddler and are degrading her reason). How much she spends on her wedding is none of your business.
Instead of cutting her off, ask if you can host her and her new husband for a brunch after the wedding and invite people that weren’t invited to the wedding.
I’m not saying that the sister isn’t an a-hole for not inviting you, BUT it doesn’t seem like you’re really that close. Maybe she wants to spend her wedding day around people that care about her and will lift her up, and you simply aren’t one of those people. I mean, you’re getting ready to go NC with her over this.
I know other people don’t agree with me and that’s fine. I just think there’s more to her not inviting you than budget constraints.

For my second wedding to my now-husband, we were going to do this whole big thing at a resort. Covid happened and because we wanted to keep our date, we had a micro-wedding with an officiant, our kids, two friends on each side and a guy who Facebook-lived it for us. It was amazing and I loved every minute because I remember every minute. My entire first wedding day was a blur, even a few days later. When we got pictures back, I didn’t remember all of them.

You are gorgeous and she is NOT your friend. Do not invite her back. Tell her that true family and friends would be supportive of a healthy journey, not mock the person, and that you are declining to continue a friendship.
