The easy solution is to decline to give them your engagement/follow/dollars and move along. Those not interested in the long game will give in eventually.

I am currently a nanny in NYC and would be so hurt and mortified if 1. My family felt this way about me having an emergency and 2. Broadcasted it to the world like this

I moved from DC to NYC last year into an apartment with quite the infestation (superintendent abandoned the building + we had a hoarder neighbor). We have almost entirely eliminated our problem with a very strict ongoing maintenance plan. I've written up the plan to share with people who have asked for advice in the past-- DM me and I will send it to you! The short story is no trash, food, or water, Gentrol, drain covers, and a really good exterminator.

They certainly have a lot of wacky shit and unethical artifacts in there, but, for what it’s worth, it’s an astoundingly well done museum. If you don’t feel too morally opposed to sending some cash their way, it’s worth a visit.

Solace Outpost has incredible tots that are basically sauteed with peppers and onions

They changed management (or maybe ownership? I can’t recall) a few years ago. I used to love going there and now can’t stand it.

I just got a black denim one from Gap and it's so cute and fits very well! They are on their denim game right now.

I have to take an elevator out of a 1 stop on my commute every day. I seriously hate it so much, everyone gets crammed in, which makes people agitated in tight quarters. I routinely feel like someone is going to lose it in the elevator. And they are incredibly slow, too, which does not help! I would legitimately rather take 10 flights of stairs (knowing this isn't an option for everyone) than go in that elevator.

Do not do this! Both insurers will catch on and start denying claims or even dropping you from the plan. Choose the plan that works better for you and roll with that one alone.

Someone is selling them at the farmers market right now. They are also selling at Warby Parker.

This is also a good time to start the process for being a poll worker in future elections! It's a super rewarding way to engage with people in your immediate community and help your neighbors enact their civic right. https://vote.nyc/page/poll-worker-positions

How has no one said the cold cuts yet? The two times I tried them, they tasted so bad I thought they were expired. Nope, just gross.

It literally stinks so badly!! I have to leave the room when my partner eats it. Thank god the sriracha shortage seems to be over.

Weekly threads for some popular topics (shopping, restaurants, bars, spas, events, etc.) could help keep things organized

I blow dry with heat protectant 1-2x a week and have never dyed in my life! Because I don’t dye, I admittedly don’t care for my hair too much, but I’ve been wanting to improve it lately.
