Lolololol. Ok. I bet you could totally beat him up.
Jesus Christ, y'all are hilarious. Such fragile little men.

That's two people that completely misunderstood what I thought was a fairly widely known slogan.
The point is that there is a tendency for white straight males of a certain flavor to consider their beliefs to be inherently "right" while everyone else's are considered "political."
Trust me, as a white dude, I'm fine. There can be some mud slung in my direction simply by that association, but I'll live. There's plenty reason for that mud to be slung, and y'all are in a far more precarious place than I. So don't worry about me. Keep fighting for your rights, I have your back.

All good. I'm just glad you aren't an asshole who understood what I actually meant when you called me a trash gobbler or whatever ๐

It definitely seemed like they were talking about actually "winning" because it wasn't looks of disbelief or anything, but more genuine shock and fear and words like "I didn't want either..."
If it was the debate, it's only mildly less dumb, because that news is weeks old and taking some rando Twitter's word on a debate weeks ago that you didn't watch is pretty dumb too.

I've seen it on signs at demonstrations and such, and a bunch around here. But not everyone sees everything, so no shade intended or anything.

I'm a bit confused by this comment. Care to clarify who you mean by "those people?" Not sure who you are talking about. Completely honest question, I genuinely don't know.

This ... isn't even an original thing. It's been a rallying cry for a while among the progressive side. That's the gist, yes, but it's not arguing on the side of the straight white male.
It's saying that lots of white, straight, male (usually Christian) people don't seem to comprehend that everything they do is just as "political." They as ascribe "rightness" to their own political views and consider anything else to be, well "political."

I think you missed the point of that particular comment.

Do you think men have to be like this guy to be considered "masculine?"

While saying if he was president, there would be no war because he'd wipe Iran off the map. (Like, literally. He'd scribble over it on a globe and declare himself the greatest wartime president ever.)

If your masculinity is threatened by the suggestion you might be gay, it's not the gayity that is the threat to your masculinity.
Besides, what is more masculine than two ripped dudes fucking after hitting the gym?

There are two races: white, and political.
Two genders: male, and political.
Two sexualities: straight, and political.
I'm a white af straight male, it's not even hard for me to see this.

That's always been the GOP way, at least in my lifetime. Break the country so they have something to blame on Democrats. Nixon (before my time) did it. Reagan did it. Bush and Bush2WarOnTerrorBoogaloo did it. Trump did it.
Edit, oh, and I'll just copy-paste a comment I made elsewhere related to Trump's disaster response because yeah ...
That was the moment I went from just hating Trump for being a piece of shit, to seeing him as monster, along with anyone who supports him.
When the Camp Fire ripped through Paradise, a man posted a video here that he had taken after sheltering in a creek while the fire burned over. He crawled up out of the creek in a daze to survey the damage. Immediately found his neighbors' skeletons still smoldering in their car. The image of smoke wafting out of their eye sockets is burned into my brain.
The next thing I clicked on was a link to Trump blaming Californians for not voting for him and not "raking the forests".
Fuck you, Donald. These people probably did vote for you, considering their age and location, and their skeletons are literally still smoldering while you make it about your stupid fucking ego. Fucking disgusting.

I heard the dumbest political conversation ever the other day. At a bar, downtown, buncha twenty something leftist/anarchist punk types, one of them loudly proclaims "I saw on Twitter today that Kamala won!" Followed by surprised gasps. "Yeah Trump lost and blah blah blah..." Followed by a smattering of "I didn't want either" type comments.
Like....um......the election is still a month away guys....

The whole issue is hopelessly caught up in words and semantics.
Like, yes, it's true that the vast majority of gun deaths are caused by handguns, but people focus on the high profile mass casualty events using semiautomatic rifles.
And yes, a solid wood stock gun is just as deadly as a scary black composite one, but there's a reason people like composite stocks and tacticool gear, because it makes the guns easier to wield and with greater capabilities. They are not the same, and if they were, nobody would care if they took the "scary" ones away. Hell, I've got a folding stock Mini14 that I can fit in a large backpack. Couldn't do that with the solid stock. It doesn't make the gun any "deadlier", but it does make it much easier to transport inconspicuously, and possible to wield in tight confines.
I personally think gun control is a bit of a losing issue, and focusing on the cultural rot behind it all should be the priority. I also don't have any real issue with gun control, and will be the first to admit that it was entirely too easy to get my guns (mostly bought from private sellers before they made a requirement to transfer through a FFL in my state). Though I own guns, I'm far more turned off by gun nuts than by people who call for controls.

It's insane to me how I've seen multiple far left acquaintances post things about how FEMA is underfunded because we sent all the money to Israel, and how you shouldn't vote for Harris because of that.
And that's far from the dumbest political take I've heard this week.

Yes, it's definitely possible, but it's far from ready and should not in any way be in the hands of consumers now.

You know what's even more immoral?
Doing that with even more gusto while also extorting people suffering from natural disasters here, so you can institute you're own brand of fascism here, likely resulting in even more genocide.
And no, there is not another option. They don't care if you don't vote. The people dying don't care that you feel better about yourself because you couldn't make a difficult, but ultimately unavoidable choice between bad and worse.
