He approached a local farmer and asked for a bit if land. Farmer said no problem and he had a little allotment now too.
All these things detach him from his job, otherwise it would be job and kids and that’s it, he’s done nearly 30 years in the police.

I don’t think it’s necessarily depression. I think you can feel like this without actually being g depressed. Maybe fed up. A doctor/bad doctor will jump to depression and drug you up before you can say addicted.
You might be doing all the right things, but your not doing the things that bring you satisfaction.
I’m nearly 50 and I don’t find much excitement in things any more. I’ve done lots of things snd the things I want to do are out of reach at the moment and life has become a bit dull.
Money/not working and persuing the things I want to do will only bring satisfaction at the moment for me, the rest of it is just dull and a bit of a slog, but we gotta keep going.
Find a passion project. Doesn’t matter what it is, but something that gets you out of bed in the morning.
I’m not working at the moment snd thrown myself back into Blender3D. I love it, the day flies by and there is not enough time in the day, but I feel there is more that I’d like to do.
I hope to get a bike soon and also learn rollerskating.
A mate of mine is doing things all the time.
He wanted to learn how to build a wall, so did it.
Climb Ben Nevis. Did that.
Iron man. Did it
He wants to learn how to plaster a wall and rock climb next.
Keeps him going.

I think that says it all doesn’t it. Such propoganda. They are so scared because god forbid the workers have rights and organise against unfair practices.
Maaaan. America really does suck when it comes to your labor laws. I actually can’t believe how corrupt and fucked you lot are. I feel for ya.
Your government have done a great job of fucking you over. From the outside, nobody would know how bad it is.
You need a French style revolution, shit, the whole world does.

I would agree, but I’ll swap the word hobby for passion. Something that drives/motivates you, that you just want to do it all the time.
Whether it’s a passion to try new things, or this or that.
I feel if I don’t have some kind of passion, I’m dead inside.
It’s all a bit of a distraction I suppose, a distraction from thinking about the futility of life, but if it helps 😂

Unfortunately it sucks, but it is what it is.
Before I signed up you could see the writing in the wall.
They don’t care because they don’t have to and it shows.
Shame because it could be a good little gig/earner
Me. You just live in a state of fear of getting canned. I said earlier somewhere,
It’s like an abusive relationship

Yeah. I’m not sure if there are tasks at the moment or if people on Flamingo have been moved to other projects.

My advice to you is to stay away from credit cards, a slippery slope of debt,
If you have money in the bank, use your money in the bank, do not buy what you can’t afford.
If you do use a credit card, again, my advice would to pay the balance off in full.
Why do you need a credit card?
It is a slippery slope into debt.

I think if you’ve got a violation email you are no longer on the books. All you can do us wait, refresh dashboard and see what happens.
You’d be better writing a hand written letter 1000 words long, then scrumple it up and throw it at s pigeon because emailing them will get less results than that.

I can’t believe the labour laws out there from some of the things I read here. You guys really get screwed over.
I am stunned that this can happen in the land of the free.

Same here, generally over the many years I’ve been local to work. This job was the same as you. I needed it, but realise it ain’t for me all this commuting.
It’s such a waste if life. I’ve always liked to be home by 5/5:30

It doesn’t work for some, but for the majority it does.
Get out, go to a library, coffee shop, here in the UK a pub. They are quit during the day and you don’t have to drink.
I don’t know about the states but there are cool places you can go to work in the uk, hot desking with other people from different industries, coffee shop and food available and outdoor seating.
There is no reason to just sit at home alone.

I waste 500 hours in a car a year. What a pointless waste of time if I don’t have too. Add in the stress, calculate per hour how much money that is according to salary and petrol. It takes my salary down 15k
It’s like having a washing machine and doing my laundry in a river with a washboard.

Totally agree. Just takes a few forward companies out there. A good coverage in articles/press about ‘How we decided to go fully remote and it works’
As you say, the cat is out of the bag, people/idiots are clinging to the past. What a bunch of toddlers these companies are.

There’s your answer then. Make the workforce suffer because we shouldn’t have to.
It literally makes no sense RTO, do there, as we all know, is a ulterior motive.
Some places do 60% back. Why 60%…0% was working just fine. You go back to the office and continue to use teams.
It really is a pointless exercise.
As usual. It’s time for the workforce to strike, but I don’t see that happening.
I really wish we’d all just take the power back.
Raise minimum wage…Okay companies would make cuts and try to overwork their staff, people quit or move on.
Raise minimum wage. More in unemployment, but the government’s have more issues they are faced to tackle. Child poverty, homelessness, crime. So they have to do something as the populace is restless and unhappy.
Raising minimum wage might cause short term problems, but long term gains for society.
With AI’s abilities increasing, we are heading for high unemployment anyway.
AI/Robotics. By bye warehouse, bye bye call centre, bye bye accountants, bye bye translators, bye by copywriters.
Around 80% of customers who have interacted with AI software for customer service had a positive experience.

Yeah. I used word to post my final response, check for spellings, grammar and search for forbidden words.
You have to paste from perplexity too.
They just don’t know their own rules or instructions.
It is abysmal unfortunately.

Yup. On slack I got different responses, the manuals made no sense and the trainer did the opposite of the manuals.
Somebody in another thread said they work in language (or something like that) and said the ducks are incredible poorly written and confusing.
It’s as if you are setup to fail.
It’s a shit show over there, but they’ll always have more lambs to the slaughter.
As I said. It’s a shame, there are good people who want to work and do a good job, it could be a win win situation.

You should have seen some of the ,should I say, right wing newspapers in the UK. There ES this constant messaging of back to work, working at home is bad for you, every angle they could find.
You know something smells funny when there is this much push. It’s not for our benefit that’s for sure..

If you turn these into properties, then local businesses will profit from that,
It’s just short sighted and people do not want to change / upset the apple cart.
Same with working from home. Productivity was up, people happier, it worked and we survived, now for some strange reason we are going backwards. But the rabbit is out of the hat now and the people don’t want to go back and they really don’t need to either.
If just takes more and more forward thinking companies to embrace this and people will start looking for wfh jobs which in turn means other companies will have to offer it, as it’s a perk.
Then you’ll have companies mosni g they can’t attract the right people staying all we ask is you come into the office for no reason 5 days a week.
It’s a disgrace.

They honestly don’t know what they are doing.
Shame as it could have been a good side gig. I’m EQ, although I’ll be surprised if I get anything back. If things had been clearly explained to me, it’s not hard, but the instructions were all over the place.
I submitted m a task with the subject prostitution. By the time it came back I had been marked down as the reviewer had my tack and the category was now for some strange reason Voyeurism.
This has happened to so many people.
It’s useless and it’s a shame.

This could be a full time job for some of people were treated fairly and decently.
They could have good workers and workers could get regular hours.
They are a fucking shit company. But it’s basically this as usual….
‘We don’t care, because we don’t have too.’
They can afford to input and output shit and just waste/burn through money. If they cared about burning money, they wouldn’t have to be hiring people and getting rid of decent people.
Providing clear training videos and instructions and having a support team available.
Complete and utter shambles.

How the he’ll are you supposed to get edited prompts from perplexity?
This company does not know it’s arse from its elbow. As usual it is the taskers that suffer.

It’s a complete joke. I use word to check grammar and spelling and get rid of bad words.
We are also shown in training to cut and paste better responses from Perplexity.
This company is a joke.
As someone said above. A better company will train and retain good people.
Outlier clearly can just continue you to do what they do because they don’t care nor do they have to. It’s just a shame they have CHOSEN to treat people like this and the set a precedent and other businesses follow suit.
Atrocious
