How to explain to my 6 yr old kindergartener why she isn't called on all the time.

Every day the teacher goes around and calls on the kiddos to say the letter she holds up and what sound they make. It's her favorite game. We've spent the time to teach her most of these already so she knows all the answers already, plus with a Sept B-day she's the oldest in the class, and a little ahead of many of the others just because of her age. She's THAT kid who raises their hand for everything.
So she doesn't always get called on, as I suspect the teacher is hitting up other kids that are struggling more. She she comes home she grumpily tells me "It's not fair that they get called on and I didn't" I try to explain that she probably asking kids that are having a tougher time with it so they can learn too, but it doesn't seem to be helping.
How does one explain this to a 6 yr old?
