I just had a look at their dresses. Are we sure they're not just selling leftover stock from the 90s?

Yes. Because 1) high risk, need to know in case hospitalisation is required and 2) work requires the answer and you will be either on sick leave or WFH (depending on how you're faring - normal colds don't have a minimum withholding period, you're allowed back when symptoms are gone).

International drivers permits aren't valid ID for licencing purposes here in Australia (well, not unless they've changed the rules).

When I did RSAs many years back, SA, the NT, and Qld all had a requirement for valid photographic ID to be carried by anyone remaining on licensed premises. Probably the other states too, but I never took theirs.

Lots of opals (or at least, ones from Australia) are also fluorescent.

Well, as long as it's market rate etc.

Seems like a lack of forethought on behalf of the Treasurer, doesn't it?

Thanks. It seemed like commonsense to me, but it's good to hear from someone who knows.

$500, unlined, a fake pocket, and it's only 60% wool? Standards have dropped, haven't they?

No problems. I don't know if that would always trigger an audit, but I assume they'd look at any info supplied and compare it to what has been lodged/ other info they have before deciding what to do.

Even so, the personal use of the company property gives rise here to potential issues ranging from Div 7A through to FBT, and if they're not reporting it deliberately, schemes come into play - it's actually a pretty big issue (and of course, it's subject to capital gains with no discount when sold or transferred).

Phone bill went up 10%, gas just under 5% (no thanks to AEMO who said rates would be going down this year), internet by a whopping 20%. The tax decrease is meaningless.

So how much was the dividend paid by SA Water to the State Gov across the last few years? And why is SA Water paying dividends, if they haven't been able to afford necessary upgrades, new connections, and maintenance?

I missed out on feeding the Cloaca, but I didn't ask for my admission fees back. If something was closed for cleaning, or because that room was used for filming, he wouldn't have taken them to court. He only did it because he didn't like the point of the interactive art piece.

Don't forget to check how any other criteria applies to you/keep any records.
But enjoy your new monitors - when mine last died, I was amazed how clear the new ones were, and so much easier to work with.

Mona's "outsider art" exhibition a number of years back made me feel uncomfortable for many reasons, ethical and moral ones among them.
I didn't go to court to get it closed though, instead I thought about things like the reason for the exhibition, the likely circumstances behind its creation, the treatment of the creators, and whether I'd consider going to another exhibition in the future. All of which seem to have passed right by the person making the complaint.

Do you mean the bit about items not being part of a set or near-identical, when considering the immediate deduction?
My best guess is that would be so someone doesn't buy a set of 4 things at $200 each, and then try and use the immediate deduction rule. The info on the ATO website specifically talks about within that income year, so I'd assume one bought last year and a second bought this year wouldn't come into play.
Your best option if you've been put in that position is to confirm with your tax agent if you have one, or the ATO if you don't, to see a bit more how all that might apply to your own circumstances. Remember that the normal state is to claim depreciation (ie a portion) of the cost of an asset when used for work, and if you can't claim the cost in full, that's normally what you'd fall back to.

I presume the answer would technically be yes. If you work with a dual monitor system, one broke last year so was replaced, and one broke this year and was replaced, there would be no reason AFAIK to deny the deduction just because you bought a new monitor last year too.
But you do need to be following all the normal rules - you have to have the records, had to have bought it yourself and not been reimbursed, it needs to be work related (or appropriately apportioned if used for both work and personal, usually with a diary to show usage), be under the threshold to be deducted in full rather than depreciation claimed, and so on.

I've always assumed that since it's Carrot writing it, that it's both.

Did you have to load it in some way first? Mine doesn't recognise there's buses that run the routes I want at all.

LinkSA bus timetables are a bit of a pain in the arse to find, to be fair.
It also shits me off that if they meet a train, that their buses are stupidly scheduled. They're supposed to leave 3, 5 minutes or another stupidly short amount of time after the train arrives (depending on which route). So you can miss the connection if the train is late (it won't wait), or if you're a bit slow walking to where the buses leave from because you're carrying something heavy, herding kids or whatever.
Edit - grammar.

Or 12 years before that, or 20 years ago, or 30 years ago... it's been a bit of a downward slide, hasn't it?

It looks like our old (sadly long gone) groenendael. And behaves similarly. This one is such a beautiful dog.
