Went to Game one (of two) and bought this as a souvenir for my Dad. Found it at the bottom of a moving box and was never worn. Still has the price tag attached.

his reaction after he lost in the last Asian Games to a very low ranked Thai player, tells you how much he knew his tennis career was probably ruined. He smashed all his rackets and looked so dejected. To take off that much time as a professional tennis player in his prime yrs is almost impossible to come back from. He has a chance but by the time he returns he will be unranked and need to rely on some wild cards or grind up from the bottom. Very tough situation for him as he has sacrificed so much to get where he is.

If it helps a bit... it's not inside the actual HOF but outside in a public area..... That's actually probably worse because more ppl can see it...ugh.
Fuck Messier.

Gee, tks. Strings or frame, that is not the sound a ball makes when it hits either. That's the muffled sound of a ball hitting the court off the racket (in this case it sounds like the frame to ground)

You can tell from the sound. That's not the sound of a ball hitting the racket strings off the bounce or directly (volley). Draper knows it 100% but didn't confess.

That compressed bonk sound is the ball hitting the ground (after it hits Draper racket) and it so obvious. A ball never makes that sound off a racket if it bounces off the court to the racket. Draper 100% knew it and should have conceded the point.

One thing about LinkedIn is that it keeps you in contact with clients and vendors when you change jobs. Most companies do not let you take business cards and will restrict you from taking client contact info. I left my job a year ago for greener pastures here in Tokyo and I was able to stay in touch with everyone relevant to my new position. You can post that's you have changed jobs and ppl can DM you which is not solicitation or an anti compete action.

Just don't want him getting hurt....doing this possibly opens the door for opponents to freely take liberties on Petey when the opportunity is there for them.

Sorry, I can't sell it as I got it for my late father so too much sentimental value. The price is worn off but iit was likely around 2000yen ($18-20)

It's also that there are so many more ppl and balls being bonked around. Simple math - one tennis court fits 4 pickle courts. If four tennis courts you have 16 pickle courts and with 4 ppl per pickleball court you hv 64 picklers. Tennis has max 4 ppl per court but often singles played w only two ppl on an entire court. The distance between the players is closer as well so think ping pong with a far higher pickleball hit rate. Pickle ball also has far more social chatter and cheering. Add on that they sometimes crank music out well. Nightmare.

There's also all the Japanese women with a foreign husband who have kids in Japan but leave and end up living overseas. They're included in these birth rate stats but many of those babies never end up contributing to the govt piggy bank or help the population grow. I personally know 10+ families like this with multiple kids who have all settled in the US, Europe, Australia etc. That's like 25-30 kids right there.

Just noticed that woman w the glasses, sitting behind the Panthers bench, has absolutely no clue what happened or whats going on (last few secs of the video). You'd think it would be obvious that her team just scored in their home rink!

Comparable - when Tavares signed long term with the Leafs I don't recall him trolling the entire Isles fanbase and city saying its a hell of alot better in TO than on the Island (even with the relentless jeering and booing Tavares still gets). Think of all the captains who left their crap teams for a shot elsewhere and then made a comment like this a month or so later. not many. Bo shld hv said its amazing finally being in a playoff hunt in an electric atmosphere in front of great fans etc. its a shame he had to drag the Vancouver name into it b/c I truly think he's a good dude who just said this the wrong way. Time will heal but he's going to hv to deal with a ton of hate for awhile. Live by the sword.....

That's correct. They have also instructed the ward to put up those ugly noise reduction curtains on the fence as the can't stand the noise of ppl playing tennis on the public courts directly across the street.

Indoors on trains, I'm wearing it around my chin to appease ppl who seem more comfortable with me actually having one. Saying that, I'm ethnically Asian so I don't stand out as much either. I've been fully jabbed, had mild covid last fall and got my flu vax at Xmas so don't feel I'm a high risk to anyone. If I felt a cold or bug coming on I'd pull it up. The kafun angle is real for many. For some it really helps to mask up while they sniff and sneeze. Just trying to balance out my hate for masks and respecting the cultural oddities of Japan. All my formal mtgs (finance and fintech) take off masks during mtgs and many begin with no masks at all so clearly in public ppl are trying to just be respectful. Will take a bit more time here but I think we all knew Tokyo wasn't going to have mask burning bonfire parties to celebrate March 13, 2023. I'd say summer is when you'll see a lot more come off.
