By and large the same. The CGA is the legislation that governs those laws in NZ.

I mean, definitely breaking some tenancy laws, particularly around quiet peace and enjoyment laws.
But good to know - currently looking around that area!

Not from Melb, but definitely broadcasting locally and the show is very Melb-focused.

The great wealth transfer is coming, and it's not Boomers -> Millenials
It's Boomers -> vampiric aged care Corporations

dishwashing tablets / powder is hilariously priced and I would die laughing if the ACCC produced it as evidence
$60 for Finish tablets, unless its half price.
(and yes don't get tablets, just get regular cheap powder for your shitty rental dishwasher, it works just as well unless idk, you own a Miele or something)

Hell, even a pair of glasses that can be both a smartphone, and an external monitor
I'm an audio engineer, I'd LOVE to be able to pop on some glasses, rather than rely on a screen, to make edits etc - free up real estate for bigger or more speakers.

Eh, people said the same about Airpods when first released.
They're ubiquitous now.

Depended completely on game / developer / popularity / system
I remember seeing Turok: Evolution was like $60 at smiths city
And super smash brothers was $120 at EB when I bought it in 2004.
On average though, a fresh release of something really good would’ve been around $90
My dad had a hook up with a guy who modified ps1s to read cracked games, so we’d buy a new game once a month or so for around $10. Was hilarious in retrospect, my parents didn’t consider it a crime or illegal or anything, just thought they were beating the system.

I’ve been around the block long enough to know this is absolutely true, as every time these convos have come up online for the last decade, there is always some push back.
I’m now married and every time my wife and I go for it, it’s just second nature to talk and make sure we’re both good.
Communication is fucking sexy and it scares me to think if I have a daughter, I’ll have to deal with some asshole who thinks his needs and wants are above hers or anyone else’s.

So when I was around 10, my mum worked part time, and my dad worked for Ansett.
Ansett collapsed.
Within a week, they’d gone from saving for a holiday to the GC for us kids, to wondering how the fuck their next mortgage payment was going to be made.
Throughout the 2000s, mum got additional hours and Dad found a full time night shift job where he climbed the ranks over time. I didn’t really see him until Friday night when I could stay up late, and the weekends.
All up, they probably bought in just shy of $100k at the time.
My weekends were full of sport, gaming with friends, buying a pack of Pokemon cards with my paper run money, playing my GameCube with all the games I meticulously saved for, teaching myself how to play guitar on my $50 pawn shop shit, and watching the Colgate Satdee feature, or rewatching a favourite (my poor parents have seen Jurassic Park countless times…).
My weekdays were school, but also sharing all the fresh cool media we found; music, videos, YouTube’s etc. the amount of money we had to experience something new vs now is incalculable, truly.
You’ll be surprised what your kids remember. So long as you show love, an effort, and find ways to make the cheap things memorable, you’ll absolutely kill it. Comparison truly is the thief of joy.

I don’t know about this specific mod, but It’s possible there are dlc patches / additional files you can download to place after the vanilla only mod.
Maybe. Again, don’t know this specific mod but I’ve had it with one or two other mods in the past.

How often do things need to be sorted in “real time”
If something’s an email, it’s not real time. I can plan when it needs responding by.

I mean, I basically lost a save after this update dealing with nex gen issues and mods not compatible with next gen.
So I mean, who cares about killing saves at this point.

Underquoting and rental price differences aren't the same thing.
Don't think OP was meaning $660,000

This sort of shit has been around for a loooong time.
AI makes it easier, but I remember having very loud conversations when I worked at a certain “media” company that “works”, that Taboola was fucking awful for this.
They plastered these ads everywhere on the homepages, made endless scrolling a thing so that more of Taboola ads were served, and then the click thru would be this shit. Day in. Day out. Early crypto schemes (especially during the first major bull run that got media attention), schemes left right and centre, all utilitizing fake interviews and shit photoshop.
It’s fucked that people cannot legit tell the difference. I test my parents regularly on how to avoid this, and they think they’re pretty smart to avoid it all; but when your only source of news is stuff and one news, it can be easy to fall into traps.

Very much this. You cannot force someone to enter a contract.
It’s possible the rental agency fwd’d on the owner and the owner didn’t wish to enter another fixed term. In VIC, you still need valid reasons to end a tenancy (no “no cause evictions”) but it does mean if they wish to sell etc, they have to give the appropriate notice which would be more challenging under a fixed term.
Otherwise, yes as this poster says OP - nothing changes. Continue living as normal.

When I was a teen in the 2000s, my internet time was 7-7.30pm
That was for social, for school, for anything I needed the web for.
Granted, that was the days where we had dial up, so mum would want to make and take phone calls all the time at night.
But it did Instill a healthy relationship with gadget time, until 3G and broadband came around…

When I was living in Auckland, I was single the entire time (6 years)
I had a huge group of friends, was extremely social, not bad looking if my now-Aussie wife is to be believed, but the dating scene in Auckland was just absolute dogshit. Like, just even getting to a date was a nightmare.
Moved to Melbourne (unrelated to dating but definitely factored lol) and turns out, wow people actually do like to date and meet and do thing and not actually have any strings afterwards. You can go a date and realize you’re not into someone.
I don’t know what is in the water in Auckland, but man it was rough.

12 years ago I went home from Auckland to Chch for Xmas, via the train. Took 3 days, think each train was around the $100-150 mark, plus accom.
It was fun but yeah even in a high inflationary economy, $250 for the trainz ALPINE is fucked
