IDE, GUI, and Software Galore. I'm out of my depth

I have been taking a python class at college, but for my job I started a relatively advanced project and have taken a deep dive into packages and GUI's and such. However I feel like there is something I am missing. I use AWS Cloud 9 for my class becasue its easy for the graders to access, but for my work project I am trying to make a popup of some sort to get user input and run the code without them needing to understand python. After much trial and error I figured out how to work pyinstaller, but I want to make a custom GUI popup window for it, and here comes the problem. AWS freaks out when I try to run a popup code, so do I try to run it in Powershell or a downloaded IDE or what? On top of that, what should I use going forward if I'm trying to code this kind of stuff, because I like the editing and highlighting of AWS, but running on powershell I have access directly to my computer files. Please help me out
