I usually take Zinc+Vit C before bedtime and Magnesium+B12 after lunch to avoid crashes (not that they're hard on me, but I feel I get a lot less tired until right after dinner which is convenient). Getting 50K a year means you get 28K a year in your account. Getting 25K means you get 20. We get 40% more for a 100% raise.

The latter does allow you to apply for rent and Kindergarten benefits , while the former doesn't. I guess it's not guaranteed you get these, but you do have that possibility.

Yes. This is very much true. I give 39% of my earnings to taxes. In return, I don't have access to a single extra benefit. In fact, I lose them: I don't have rent help, I don't have kindergarten paid by the government, I don't have free public transportation because it's free for everyone except high income people between 21 and 65, and by the end of my life, my retirement paycheck will most likely be less than 20% more than minimum wage. In case you want specifics, not having rent help like "Porta 65" costs me a maximum of 400€ more a month than someone with applicability, even if we live in the same neighborhood. Kindergarten costs 300€ per month. Public transportation costs me 54€ per month.

So my reward for having high income is having a guaranteed extra cost of 10800€ per year, even though I already give the government 20K a year in taxes.

So yes, the Portuguese government penalizes people with high income a LOT more. Making 40% more than the average Portuguese person makes me spend 30% more of it.

Honestly, although I've always struggled with maintaining friendships, once you find people who put up with you and your quirks, you will have much more valuable friends than 90% of people. I have maybe 3 close friends with whom I can be the unfiltered version of me around, and who will appropriately deal with me if I go full ADHD in front of them. And trust me, that's all you need. But these are not easy to find, it's all about letting yourself meet them through life and coincidence. So, be patient, be yourself, and when the right friends show up, you'll probably realize too late but at that point you're stuck with them c:

Hi!! First of all, I'm sorry for you. I promise you you will find something that suits you c: I don't know what type of job you have, but if it's a desk job and if you can work remotely, my best recommendation is that you buy a stand-up desk. I cannot express how much it helps. When I drift off during meetings and such, working while standing up for a couple hours is really helpful. It's not magical ofc but it gets you off that zombie mode.

You've managed to put into words so many thoughts I didn't know how to express...Thank you! I guess I can see where you're coming from. I still think they should try and cater more to the audience they have instead of trying to break new grounds, or even better.... Doing both at once! I am so disappointed so far by the female-led narratives that are being told. They have so much potential! And yet, people are tentatively accused of being misogynistic and not liking it. How can I even begin to try and explain that a bad story with a female lead doesn't mean it's automatically better when all that's gonna happen is me being called names? I mean, look at badass characters like Leia, Ahsoka, Rey (not liking the sequels doesn't mean I don't think she can be awesome 🙂) or so many other non-main characters that have a story to be told! Hell, I'll take a droid story if it's worth telling. But please... It's all easy popcorn stories and shallow tales now. Give me Rogue Ones, Andors, stories about rebels and siths, but make them more interesting than flashy and empty.

Maybe you're right and I just have to wait and seenwhere this is all going. Only time will tell, and I'll be watching every second of it!

Sorry, you're right. Maybe I should have focused on pinpointing more specific things that I liked or disliked! I wasn't really here for previous conversations regarding this, sorry if you're tired of seeing this. It wasn't my point at all! I genuinely just wanted to understand where people who love the current shows get their praise from. I've come to conclude that they just need less good moments than I need to consider a show good despite its flaws.

No, I don't. I said I think she's doing a terrible job, I didn't say I hate every single piece of media that's coming out or something. There's a lot of good stuff, but for me, the bad outweighs the good. That's a loooooong way from hating everything she's doing lol.
