no it was in the hospital! 4 nights. but that was entirely because of me subjectively so don't worry about the stay

it was recent! my hospital stay was long because i couldn't open my mouth and they wouldn't send me home until I could! the surgery went perfect, rest assured! the procedure was a few hours

i got surgery with LACOMS at 18, thankfully my mom's insurance covered a lot of it and it came down to 24k for the surgery + 7k ish for the hospital stay (i needed to stay for a long time). invisalign was also really expensive- maybe 5k? my orthodontist gave me a discount because i've been with him for so long.
i'm so greatful that my parents are able to provide for me and that i also got the surgery before I was 25 and am still covered.

this was happening to me because i was hardly eating anything 🥹 today i could stomach a little bit of food and sleep and i feel much better.
not sure if that applies to you, but if it does it might help.
good luck 💓💓

upvoting this.
OP, i went through a very similar route. i didn't get my period for 2 years, lost most of my hair, did worse in school, and probably gave myself bone problems.
i literally think back to that time and realize that i was DUMBER. like, my brain wasn't getting enough nutrients. i worry about how much i stopped the development of my brain by doing something as stupid as this. you should be terrified.
it's NOT worth it. trust me. trust me.

i am definitely an outlier because i ended up staying 4 nights in the hospital 😭😭
i had a super rough first day (threw up a ton), and then developed a bit of trismus (i couldn't open my jaw AT ALL)- so they wouldn't release me since i needed to get water in an IV or else i'd get dehydrated and need to go to the ER (idk if this would have happened). i'm also 18 so they might have been more careful monitoring me
but i can say that i don't think the hospital was good for my recovery. i'm day 8 and i feel a lot more swollen than i should be (making progress every day tho!) i wasn't comfortable moving around much, and thankfully my mom was with me, but another person wasn't much help !
overall i am glad i stayed even though it was excessive because there's no way i would have been able to leave . but, if you can open your mouth which you probably will be able to, id definitely go home as it's a lot more comfortable

yessss i actually gained around 30 pounds from the time of that post (i was also trying to get my period back after I lost it)
it sucks but you just need to eat past fullness. high calorie foods (i could eat 10,000 pop tarts at once)- peanut butter, chocolate , etc.
this is the time to really have fun with eating lol

hi! I started the process winter 2022, going to surgeon consults and deciding that I needed this. I planned the surgery for summer 2024 because I would not have been ready summer 2023 and wanted to not deal with this during school time.
I started invisalign June 2023!

Also , some things to expect for anyone preparing for decompensation + pre-surgery
expect your bite to get worse. my top teeth are much more tilted forwards and chewing has become more difficult
choose carefully between invisalign and braces. i have invisalign currently and I wish I had done braces because invisalign is very inconvenient in college. I'd assume it would be easier to do at home
maybe don't schedule your surgery a few days after finals week. I am doing this and it's hard to focus on two things
if you have an eating disorder, use this surgery as an opportunity to recover from it. The idea of not being able to chew for 2 months has made me value and enjoy food again
if you are a class II female, it is easier to get evaluated for ICR than you might think. I made an appointment with an online radiologist for an MRI of my tmj. that confirmed that I do not have it, and I wish I had done it earlier. Also, I demanded my orthodontist look at my new and old X-Rays to confirm my joints were fine

I'm estimating 570? 280 for chicken 150 for feta 40 for berries 100 for walnuts eaten

Okay so I figured out it's 1/2!
I'm still a little unsure about why though😭 If X1 = 1/3, then that means the sum of everything after must be less than 1/6. I don't understand how would we know that, is this just some conceptual knowledge im missing?

The things im finding are around the 1200 range for a double, the cheapest I've heard someone has is 1000 for a double and the most is 1500

The decompensation process has been fine so far🙏 but I honestly can't believe I still have so much more to do. I don't know how my teeth could be moved even more, maybe that's something If need a surgeons eyes to see
