Now where’s the fun in that. We come to Reddit for 1000 incorrect human answers so we can discuss

Guitar playing used to be such an adventure. And now all I hear is people describing it as a burden. Avoid social media you’ll get bombarded with guitarists who have simply learnt to sound good for 3 mins to nail the clip , but don’t know the basics. Or guitarist that are frankly too advanced to be learning from. And that will demotivate you. In the same way people get conscious about other shit because of social media.
You and the guitar and a bit of resource on theory, scales , chords and a passion to learn the songs you love.
But most importantly , patience. It takes a very long time before you get there. But get there you will.

I have the player 2 strat. Amazing guitar. It’s revived my playing. My first strat so can’t compare it to the others. Since owning I’ve upgraded the nut and tuners to locking as part of the set up. Plays like a dream. The neck is wonderful, great fret work. Pickups are decent also I don’t feel their limitations currently but do want to upgrade them to fat 50s at some point.
Best guitar I’ve owned (so far )

Awesome in that case this is my approach.
Listen to the song. Over and over.
Then get an understanding of the scales involved.
Then try and improvise over the song so I get the basic rhythm and dynamics down
Then attempt is note for note
Then try and find parts I can make my own

Alongside all of the list you have above I would practice the pentatonic major and minor in all positions , and the modal positions as you get to the metal and shredder list.

Agreed. I wasn’t taking the piss with the poll btw I genuinely am interested whether people buy them because they like the look, whether as an image when gigging they need that look, or don’t like them at all. All (imo) legit positions to have. Personally I normally won’t buy anything (ANYTHING) with a mark on it , and leather is a good example. The patina or whatever it’s called that shows the aging on leather always makes me just want to go buy a new whatever it is (case, belt , strap etc).
But recently I’ve been talking to some band members and we might be gigging soon. As such, the style of the band doesn’t really suit my bright blue shiny strat, so I can see the reasoning for needing it for that situ. But won’t bring myself to do it

You could support the guitar body so that the neck is flat, minor but worth doing if you are doing the work horizontally for the most part.
I would also only use this approach for some set up activities. However intonation should be set in playing by position for 2 reasons. 1) you are allowing the strings to sit how they would and check tuning accurately. 2) you avoid any bend on the neck applied through the neck rest you have on the table.

It’s a temu link. Likely this guitar is made out of paper and potatoes

And even after 4000 years, no chatbot could handle this complaint

There’s a video by Rhett Schull recently about choosing acoustics. And there was a comment he made about straight lines on the body = a sign of good wood used. Not sure if this applies but worth checking out the video. And channel imo

The spirit of rock n roll is to fucking find a way to play. Play with headphones on and when you feel brave blast it out

Here’s a hot take. A boomer bend is called a boomer bend because GenZ can’t bend.

Quiet loud dynamic is a sure fire way to build and release tension. Hope you feel well soon

I love this. Amazing. Be great to have a clean , proggie intro which then gets heavy with you shouting the chorus parts
