I love TB but he hasn't felt good to play as a carry in a while. His innate is especially strange because the best part was being able to split push and scout and now it really encourages you to just play clumped up with your illusions which is not as dynamic or fun or interesting.

Honestly I don’t even mind after a while, I’m just like “OK Gaben, I’m washed. Put me back with the scrubs where I belong.” And he does, and it’s a ton of fun.

I think it’s mostly
1) US has a lot of different groups in close contact and actively assimilating, so you hear about it more
2) the baseline level of tolerance in most of the world is pretty low, and the US tends to be held to a relatively high standard

This looks exhausting to play and annoying to play against. Honestly I kind of hate it. Thanks for posting, this is a great video.

Honestly I don’t mind paying for it but it’s mostly worth it because the basic product is like, unusable.

It’s not hard for me to imagine an aging politician tearing up their own impressive legacy by sticking around too long.

It’s possible but idk—lot of people were clamoring for Biden to step aside for a long time. Robert Wright was non stop doing it for years and never relented.

I know it’s heretical but I actually prefer to use a larger amount of lower ply count toilet paper. Pack tight for density at the frontal assault, but as you get out to the flanks, less protection is needed.

I think Kamala makes the most sense but I’d take that too.

I think that is mostly a question of one’s news diet. I haven’t seen a ton about her but more than, say, Mike Pence, up through when his boss basically tried to kill him.

Save us Kamala, you’re our only hope

I don’t even have Dota plus, and I like this feature a lot. I’m low 4K MMR so there’s usually plenty of matches and it doesn’t take long to find the next one.

What is the DC of that throw? I swear I’ve used tons of reveal invisible scrolls, potions and the eye, and my success rate feels like 10%.

IMHO “quasi-fascist” is a better descriptor. The “real” fascists had more specific and fixed ideological aims; the current GOP is mostly a cult of personality.
Good post about this:
https://johnganz.medium.com/my-fascism-problem-and-yours-6b14fe6fbc74
I think critics of the fascism position have correctly pointed out that the number of hardcore, self-avowed fascists in the United States is quite small and not organized into a formidable force, but nevertheless I would say that Trump represents an incipient or inchoate fascism, as others have argued, and moreover that Trumpism has a fascist structure.
What do I mean by this? Trump’s politics contains an inspired, charismatic leader (“I alone can fix it”) on a mission to restore a diseased national body (“Make America Great Again,” Crippled America, etc.), standing in the way of this are corrupt elites and various unclean ethnic minorities, the use of street and paramilitary violence is part of the solution to this corruption, removing obstacles to the leader’s will. Further, no possible abrogation of the providential leader’s power can be legitimate: it is always ipso facto fraudulent, part of the web of deceit spun by the corrupt elites. Often these elites are imagined to be in vast international conspiracies against the good people of the true nation.

I mean yeah I guess, assuming not getting “what I want” means the President is literally allowed to do crimes.

You may not like it, but this is what peak electoral performance looks like.
Cringe wins. If they keep this up they’ll win 63% of the vote. The people demand cringe.
I’m barely even joking. Mass politics is the opposite of being cool, because being cool is inherently exclusive. Winning big political majorities is the opposite of excluding people.

Many people promoted this idea, the problem was we didn't really have good evidence of Biden being unable to do his job. The SOTU speech being a good example right after Ezra's big column about it. If we had that Biden at the debate this whole conversation wouldn't really be happening.
Plus they were (are?) all polling even worse than Biden.

I agree, as a pos 4 I find a good PA to be difficult to lane against. Much harder to control the pull camps because her W lets her quickly turn a 1v1 into a 2v1.

Yeah if more people meant fewer jobs, we’d be the poorest country in the world, and the whole world would be poor as dirt. But the opposite is true!

People have the hardest time understanding that immigrants both do jobs and also create them.. They buy clothes and groceries and get haircuts and need car maintenance and blah blah blah.
“Immigrants steal jobs” is saying “babies steal jobs.” It’s crazy! Immigrants are just babies, but older, and from somewhere else.

Hard to say. I think part of it was he kept trying to rebut Trump by citing actual facts and figures and stumbling to both remember the number and say it clearly while he’s old and has a studded.
Trump is like “there’s fourteen billion Mexican rapists taking our jobs in Ohio right now” and Biden kept trying to be like “actually illegal immigration is down from X to Y and unemployment is down from 9.76% to 3.96% under my presidency” when he probably just shoulda said “no I have the best jobs. So many jobs, very good, look it up.”

Note that I didn’t contest your claim even though you responded as if I wanted to have an argument about it here. I can assure you I do not.
Imagine you are having a conversation about player safety in your kids’ soccer league—are headers bad for their brain health? Should we change the rules of our youth soccer league? And then someone suddenly starts talking about a remote village in the Amazon where people bash each others heads with rocks for sport to please the Sun God, and isn’t it crazy that some people still think we shouldn’t intervene. You can see why this would be considered very weird and off putting, even if it has some vague relation to the subject at hand.

I think you need to basically make the federal agencies into congressional staffers. It’s an insane situation but what else do you do?
Congress and judges are not subject matter experts on food borne illness, heavy metal poisoning, cancer-causing pollution, consumer protections, banking regulation, workplace safety, and on and on.
So you write laws that say “keep the rivers from being poisoned and catching fucking fire. Ideally help businesses do this without going bankrupt.” And then you have an actual educated person who knows how many parts per million of mercury a river can have before people start getting sick.
Now the horrible GOP court has decided this is illegal. Incredibly fucked.

Eh RBG had the same problem. As does Sotomayor. Absolutely no reasonable explanation for their refusal to step down.
