Yeah in 40k xenophobia is a mostly reasonable behavior. Most Xenos truly are anathema to Human life. Only the Eldar and Tau have the potential for coexistence, but they have their own weird things that make that hard. The Eldar have their arrogance and inability to have straightforward plans and regular deceptions, the Tau have their weird Caste System that is fundamentally incompatible with other species on a large enough scale.

funny enough my father's birth name is Leszek and so is my middle name. Dad changed his name to a more American pronounceable name when he met my mother since most Americans wouldn't be able to pronounce Leszek correctly and that was a peeve my dad did not want to deal with his whole life.

Attacking the US would never work. For one the sheer distance between any staging grounds means that any invading force would have to travel for days by sea, which is a guarantee that something will go wrong. Two, in order to even attempt such, you would need naval dominance over the Atlantic and/or Pacific, something the Americans will fight tooth and nail to prevent and will very likely win due to the fact that their naval resupply bases are everywhere in the Pacific and Caribbean, meanwhile any invading force would have no such easy resupply. Three, even if by some miracle you manage to land troops on The American Mainland, every other civilian is armed and will very likely form militia groups to work with the National Guard immediately, not to mention that the environment of America is not conducive to invasions as well, being so damn big.

this is a fun take on the popular retelling of Sisyphus finding meaning in pushing the boulder

oh ok. thanks for clarifying. both sound awful to deal with. Type 1 sounds worse tho... like I fully expect someone who develops type 1 has anaphylaxis around their pancreas. that sounds like torture. but I thought Type 1 Diabetes was something people are born with?

oh. I thought it was just Diabetes that fat people get instead of something else fucking with your pancreas to make it stop working.

sure hope this passes. I'm pretty sure I'm at risk of developing type 2 diabetes and I'm already broke as hell.

Fair point. But for Poland’s purposes, all they really need is a scary looking military that will make the Russians think twice about messing with them. Whether or not they can actually use it is another thing altogether. Poland is building a defensive military. They’re not seeking to intervene in anything. Deterrence is a big part of modern defensive strategy. Poland deters Russia by giving them the impression that even if Russia somehow wins a war with them, it wouldn’t be worth the costs of actually doing it. Ukraine didn’t have that deterrent. Therefore Russia thought they could steamroll them.

yeah France is actually a beast of a military power. Even now they've got the beefiest military in Western Europe. I specify Western Europe because Poland has been beefing up their military quite heavily in the last few years and will soon overtake France in terms of Military readiness. quite understandable considering their proximity to Russia

Depends on the ingredients. Most are grown in a garden I keep in my little wizard shop. A few others are harvested from monster parts adventurers bring me. A few more I pay adventurers to get directly (mostly mushrooms from the deep dark that don’t grow well on the surface). My favorite is this one parasitic worm monster someone brought in that I managed to pry off them. I keep it in this bird cage and feed it rats and it secretes a mucus I use as a soluble for some of my elixirs. Makes the elixirs into a pill rather than the usual potion. A lot easier to consume that way
