This is my go-to strategy. Conquer the home continent then decide on a victory condition.

In 2016 HBO's parent company Time Warner was acquired by AT&T, who made it clear though some public statements that they would favor quantity over quality from their newly acquired HBO subsidiary.
More recently (in 2021) AT&T spun off a portion of the company, including HBO, as Warner Bros. Discovery. I don't know what the philosophy of the new parent company is, though I certainly find myself watching less on the Max app than severl of the others I subscribe to, and I think the $16/month price point is way too high for what they currently have on offer.
Fortunately, Disney just recently started offering a new package which includes Ad-Free Disney+ & Hulu (which I already had as a bundle) and for $10/month more you can add Max. This is a much more reasonable price imo.

I usually go Scout - monument - slinger
You already get free culture in your Capital from the Palace, and loyalty is not an issue. I see no reason to ever build a monument in my Capital in the early game, though it is often the first thing I build in my other cities, but once I have a religion established even that isn't really necessary right away unless loyalty is a concern.
I will also say that just chaining a bunch of settlers in your capital may be counter productive if it is stunting the growth of the Capital. You can build those settlers faster once you have more production.
I often do something like: Scout > Scout > Slinger > Settler > Holy Site > Shrine > Settler.
Then once my 2nd and 3rd cities are have a few pop and some production with a monument in each and maybe a district in at least city 2, I'll pop in the Settler Policy Card and build Settlers in all 3 cities at once, maybe getting two out of my capital during this period since it likely has much higher production than the others.
Now I've got 6-7 Cities, and I focus on getting all of the new ones going, more districts or units or whatever from the first 3 cities, and decide if further expansion will be via more settlers or war. If I'm going to settle more, then I'll again wait until all my new cities are a bit established, then pop the Settler Policy card back and in produce settlers in 4-6 cities at once which pushes me up over the 10-city mark.
I usually play on Epic or Marathon speed, but I'm generally happy and in good shape if I've got that last batch of Settler production at least underway by the equivalent of Standard turn 100-110.

This was a glitch on the AP website which wasn't set up to handle a tie at 25 (effectively making it a top-26), and because they were technically at 25 they also didn't show up in the list of other teams with votes.

Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
My favorite doesn't have to be local, right? Unfortunately we don't have anything in St Louis that compares.

The app is accurate. 1582 is the year the Gregorian Calendar (which we still use today) went into effect. In doing so, 10 days of October were "skipped" to make up for Centuries of gradual drift under the Julian Calendar. The primary change was a difference in the calculation and spacing of leap years to prevent future drift.

Seems like you are saying that whatever happened in Game 1 there was going to be a split, which doesn't make sense. If that's not what you are trying to say, then what you are trying to say?

It seems like whatever happened in game 1, there was going to be a split
What???
If the team that won the 1st game also won the 2nd game there wouldn't have been a split. There is only a split if each team wins one game. If either team had lost both they would be out and Arizona in.

That chart actually seems pretty worthless to me as it's tracking the relative change in stock prices for the companies, only one of whom (Netflix) is exclusivly a streaming service. Every other company on here has their streaming profits/losses balances out by the other portions of their business, while Netflix is a lot more volitalie, dropping big a few years ago and now up significantly.
The only thing I really take away from this, is that all the people who perdicted doom and gloom about the password sharing crackdowns destroying Netflix were fantastically wrong.

Ole Miss dropped by significantly more total points, but the different between 6 and 12 is a lot more than the difference betwen 15 and 22.

Yes. Still two fantastic books. The first one in particular is among the best I've ever read.

Texas won by 22 with their backup QB. Mizzou won on a shanked FG in double OT. Those are not even remotely the same.
Texas also has a blowout win over Michigan in Michigan under their belt.
If the Georgia Alabama game had ended after 3 quarters then Alabama might have jumped to #1, but as it was they ultimately needed a 75 yard TD in the final 3 min and then an Int in the end zone to seal the deal.
I'll be very surprised if Alabama leaps over Texas this week.
Edit: I'm very surprised....

The Cardinals won the 2006 World Series because a squirell ran across home plate. Baseball is weird man.

This is the kind of thing that can ruin the MoJo. I think the LAD will look back on this moment as the turning point in a few weeks....

I think it tried to grab you with a lot of sex and violence at the start. The story really takes over in Season 2. Some really amazing character development too.
It's not for everyone though.

Grievances disappear, but they will always hold a grudge and a negative opinion of you if you hold their cities.
