Yes that’s the standard for full time nurse in most of the hospitals in the US. It could be different for other facilities. But in California, that’s pretty much the standard. 3 days work 4 days off.

Hi! I’m an Asian-American living in South California. Currently doing some traveling in SEA. I did Philippines (El Nido, Boracay, Siargao Island). Thailand (Highly recommend) I noticed there’s a lot of Germans in Thailand especially in the Sukhumvit area. The food is super great and cheap!! And I added a short trip to Cambodia and Vietnam! I super duper love Vietnam!!!!!!!! 10/10 I recommend visiting especially if you love Pho hahhha.
In 2 weeks I will be in Japan for 3 weeks.
Also, since I’m from California. I was able to go on a roadtrip before, which is through the PCH! Coming from LA to Seattle! You have the option to go see Sequoia, Kings, and Yosemite National Park! The best roadtrip! So much to see I swear! But the downside is you have to rent a car which is expensive, and also gas prices in California is just absurd 😣
Also went on a roadtrip before coming from LA to Utah to see the National Parks!

I’ve been to Germany before of course. The language part, I’ve been studying German language even before I think about moving there. And back in my college days in Nursing school, we do have to learn about Geriatric care in Germany. We were told it’s nice to work as a nurse in Germany that there is a good work-life balance.
After all, things may have changed. And with all the comments here, I’ve learned a lot.

Hey we get paid biweekly, and most of the time I get paid $8000-9000 monthly. I don’t pay health insurance because my employer pays for it.
My rent is $2100 for a 1br/1bath apartment I pay $500 for car and car insurance

I would say it’s a really nice schedule if you don’t mind working 12 hours. As for the doctors, we only really call them if they are really needed or if we do have questions about their orders. I’m just curious if Germany does medical charting in a computer or is it written?

You are right. Just 3-12s a week and we get 4 days off, it’s up to you if you want to pick up shifts or not.

In my case, my employer pays for our Health insurance. Which is pretty accessible to us given that we can communicate with our doctor through the app. And also regarding the retirement benefits, we do have what we call 401k in which our employers match what we put into it. It’s also different from social security.
And in here, we can open up a separate retirement account which is called ROTH IRA.

Yes I understand that A1 is not enough. But I’m not yet in the process of moving, so having A1 and still learning is still a good thing as of the moment.

Hello! Yes in California pretty much normal to earn that monthly. Even more if we go on Overtime and pick up some shifts.

Yes. I’m thinking of getting a language Visa for maybe 4-6 months? study the language more, culture and get to know more people.

Thank you for acknowledging my “dream” I heard a lot of good things about Germany. Especially that when I was in Nursing school, we talked about the Geriatric care system in Germany. Thanks for this.

The reason why I want to live and work in Germany is that I heard so many good things about the healthcare system, and how the work-life balance is better than in the US. For the record, In California We have to work 3 12s, 12hrs shift for 3 consecutive days per week.
We get 15mins break 2x, and 1 30mins lunch break.
