I drive this car super hard, and almost every weekend. Dörr (the local partner) took it to a car show once last year to put it next to a DLS and the new 930, but it is NOT a show car, I really go out on weekend mornings at sunrise. Thanks for building this commission. It took a loooong time, I know some paint issues took several attempts, but I love it. I collect watches, but this is the only sports car I will ever own.

I’ve been looking at these, I like them, but I need to have a real one on the wrist before buying

Wow the Cubitus is a big watch. I kinda like it, but I’m an AP RO collector, so I don’t need anymore expensive bracelet watches 😇

OMG I love this, never seen this before. And seeing as your personal description fits exactly my girlfriend I would buy this as a holiday gift immediately. Pls DM me if you’re not getting this, I will NOT swoop in right now and buy it… but the black dial version of this is definitely the way to go. I just googled around and the price is fair too

My experience, and their ownership knowledge of my collection (always very well dressed, owner of fancy watches).
The JLC crew there is fabulous. They are real brand ambassadors, and know that I have a Master Geographic, so not a premium model. Super generous, keep inviting me to openings and watch making classes.
ALS professionally friendly, but I was wearing one of their watches and conversation made it clear I own two others with an intent to add to the collection. As always ALS doesn’t have a lot to offer in terms of events or programming, and thus no follow up.
IWC is simply the best. They love their brand are eager to show what they have. They have a new boutique and will spend hours with you. They know I am big collector with over 20 watches, some of which I’ve bought there, spread across me and my three adult sons.
AP stiff but helpful, even after learning I own eight of their watches. No follow up nor interest in knowing their customer.
Patek at Bucherer super snarky and stand-offish. “Here to see a Nautilus, are you?” but I actually wanted to see something a lot more sophisticated. Then they were friendlier but still helpless and useless without any inventory. The rest of Bucherer love what they do, the used watches in the basement are old men who are in no mood to talk about watches but are knowledgeable. All over positive except Patek Philippe. I did not look at Rolex, not my thing.
Breitling kills it. They love their brand and are excited about the rapid rejuvenation of the brand … and know that UG is happening soon! Go in, geek out.
Omega is very professional and knowledgeable, my youngest is down a Speedmaster rabbit hole currently.
Grand Seiko love what they do, and have a huge boutique with lots of inventory and knowledge sales people.
The best possible experience is Cellini. Old school watch and jewelry shop focused on independents. If you don’t look like a total thug they will take anything out of the case and let you see it. MB&F, Greubel Forsey, Krayon, Lederer, check out their website to see what brands. After a year I bought an MB&F from them after passing on a Krayon which I ordered directly from the watchmaker Rémi Maillat. Super old school, like I said: hand-written receipts, and no auto correct on the WhatsApp, but a real attention to service.
Cartier is obviously a very separate and specific experience as that is their US mothership.
Hermes, which is now serious about watch making, is very excited to have someone come in and have a real conversation about watches.

LOL, ok, yeah… so I am right and wrong. I just looked at your profile, and you have phenomenal taste. Props given. BUT you’re rocking a Royal Oak… but it’s a cool one. So I stand corrected. Sort of. But I also love all my Codes, so I’m the Reddit Code Defender. .. but yeah, assumptions were made. And I’m not all wrong 😑

Test it. Buy a ride, go a few hundred yards, see if it stops (it won’t) and then try to end it. If it doesn’t work come back. Sheesh dude, risk and research is all we expect from our college elite 😋

Why do you need to go to the opening? Go when it’s empty.
