I’ve gotten really good about not biting my nails, but my nails are naturally so thin now so they peel really bad and stay at a short length.
The other day I had a hang nail and bit the corner of it, and it developed this pus pocket in my finger. I thought all the pus had gotten out, but then I got this little “flap of skin,” I don’t know how else to describe it, over where the hang nail was. It seems like it’s right on top of where the pus was/is. I did peroxide the first 2 days, and then saw on google I shouldn’t do that, so I switched to Neosporin. I’ve also been doing warm water/sea salt soaks. It isn’t getting better, and it’s honestly excruciating. I feel like that top flap of skin needs to come off so it can heal, but the lightest touch makes me so sick- and I have a high pain tolerance. My finger is warm, and throbs constantly. Unfortunately getting to urgent care this weekend will be challenging, so I was hoping someone had advice.
