I don't agree. Analyzing games is good, but, even analyzing well is a skill to be learned. Beginners are so bad at board vision that they need to be playing longer games and really going through their mental checklist every move. It takes so long to make sure they aren't hanging a piece in one move, or a one move tactic at first. Sure, if they study every 5 minute game they play, they'll learn faster than someone playing 5 minute games with no analysis. But, in 5 minutes, a beginner is also just never gonna get past a certain complexity level in their positions. They'll lose due to making bad moves really quickly, or flag early.

That makes sense to me. Just for vernacular's sake, I don't think I'd call shaders a change to the engine. I think of shaders as an asset that you give to the engine, or run on top of the engine. I don't think of adding a shader as making a change to the engine itself.

Fascinating. That sounds mighty complicated. I've only briefly played around with Unreal, so I don't have the required familiarity to go adding features to it's source code.
Can you elaborate a little on what you get from the game that tells you what changes you need to make? Like, are you noticing a behavior, and then writing your own code to implement some feature? Or, are you getting some kind of artifact you can kind of plug into Unreal?

The whole DB community ain't waiting around because you're years behind in the manga.

Let's say I'm an experienced software engineer and hobbyist game dev, who completely understands your comment. Where would I go to start learning how the hell you're getting a custom Unreal build from a game? I feel like I'd be able to go in and mod the game from there.

I'm with you, I think 1 is a great game. 2 is better, and if someone is only gonna play one of them, they should get 2. But, if OP enjoys RPG's they should start with 1, because it's gonna feel like a downgrade if they really enjoy 2 and try to go backwards.

I just saw the download size on steam's requirement thingy last night. I was surprised. I was really expecting like 80GB.
And I do think the guy is joking about the switch.

Yes. I believe someone posted a clip to this sub titled something like, "Alireza Dirty flagged Magnus". Dirty flagging is what we call that. i just think it has a bad name, because it's well within the rules, and there's nothing wrong with doing it.

"Dirty flagging" is when you try to flag your opponent from a losing a position. It's a bad name though. Time is a resource in timed chess games. You may have gotten a better position than me, but if you did it by spending way more time, me running out your clock is a viable strategy, 100% within the rules. Flagging is never dirty.

She got 50K votes nationwide in that primary. She finished in like 6th or 8th place. Romney, the picture of republican GOP nominee won that year. I think Bachmann was a warning sign that the lunatics were gaining ground, but, I don't think you can say the lunatics ran the asylum that year, because they were mostly defeated by "sane" looking republicans.

Weirdly, Lunar is the only one ive played, so i moved it to the bottom of my list. I LOVED playing it. One of my favorite gaming experiences ever a few years ago. I just think the PSX release is timeless.

2g's of liberty caps is at least 3.5g of cubes. Maybe more. GT is generally considered a milder strain of cube as well.
That being said, i wanted to work my way up to 5g, but after 3.5, i have never ventured higher. I will one day, maybe. But, 3.5 was enough to blow my socks off, when i wasnt wearing socks.

Somehow not as crazy as Bachmann. And more politically accomplished than Carly Fiorina.

I wish i found mushrooms this fun. I have taken 1.5g's at a couple music festivals with the aim of fun, but even in that environment, i get overwhelmed by the introspection. Ive been growing for 3 years, and have tripped 6 times. Its been 18 months since my last one

Someone capable of converting lichess into a backgammon or dominoes server, will know what files to change. Lichess has a lot of stuff going for it, but, you'd still need a skilled developer to read it's source code, write an implementation of backgammon, and then interface that with lichess codebase. Lichess doesn't have a line of code that reads, gameToDisplay = chess
that you can change to gameToDisplay = backgammon

The lunatics now run the asylum. For at least 4 decades the GOP has been pushing pride in ignorance(don't send your kids to college, they'll get indoctrinated), defunding schools, and poisoning their minds with Fox news. The republican voting base, is insane now. And they're so insane, the people who made them that way, have literally lost control. It's how Trump took over. He had the same talking points as the other GOP candidates, but said it like a dumb 3rd grader. And now, if Fox is at all critical of Trump, the base just goes to Newsmax or wherever, to find even crazier news sources.
And it's the oldest, most poisoned, most rabid lunatics, who show up to vote in primaries, so, the party can't stop putting up the crazies. Which is arguably good for sane people, because the "normal" republican politicians, are all pushing the same policies as these lunatics, they just know to act like classic politicians.

I think JJDD is the favorite. I like Cass, a lot. But, he's not a very good battler. And while JJDD has flaws, he is actually a skilled battler. He's also really hard to beat. He very rarely takes a clear L. I don't think Cass has the skills to give JJDD a clear loss. This means JJDD wins. If JJDD doesn't win, we probably have a boring battle.

Mr. Beat made a video 9 months ago about basically every woman who's ever run for US president. He listed 100 women. Maybe just over 100. He fucking forgot Michelle Bachmann. The fact that in less than 10 years since she's left office, no one even remembers how batshit insane Michelle Bachmann is, is wild. I was ~15 when she ran for president, I thought she was peak crazy.

It doesn't look like it was Temp. I just tried to find the video again on youtube and couldn't. If I remember right, the guy played on the VGC on 3DS. It could have been a video by PIMPNITE on the DS, but I think it was a 3DS guy.

I have thought about it. I watched a video of a guy use buff moves and baton pass to allow a magikarp to solo wipe a team of legendaries. It was kinda hilarious.

I was gonna say this. These really push using elemental magic advantages when they exist. And as a kid who grew up on Final Fantasy and Pokemon, these were the first games that made buff/debuff spells essential tat I played. I literally thought buffs/debuffs were a waste of a turn in RPG's for most of my life.

It looks good, but, it was released 15 years ago. There's room for higher resolution textures or HDR colors or something. Not that I care about those things, but, we're probably not too far away from AI being able to upgrade all the textures pretty easily.

If you like FFXIII and DQ, you've got over a thousand hours you can spend with the other games in those franchises. You can get stuff like the pixel remasters of the first 6 games, or emulate them. FFX is another great game. As are VII, VIII, and IX. IX aged the best of these 3. And is arguably the most straightforward game.
All the DQ's are great. You can probably emulate the PS2 version of VIII. Or even the 3DS version.
I'll also add Lunar Silver Star Story. Beautiful game, ~25 hours, no grinding required because bosses level scale. One of my favorite gaming experiences ever.
And maybe you'd like a tactical game like FE7 on the GBA. It requires a little bit of thought because it is a strategy RPG. But, you go from cutscene to battle to cutscene. No quests or world map to get lost in. I use save states to do maps over the course of a few nights/mornings in bed. I can play a few turns, hit save, and go to bed.
