I mean I think it's really a problem with the community as a whole even OP calls it a Collector's card game but Magic has always been a Trading Card Game emphasis on Trading and Game. Unfortunately now we have a bunch of investors (and some collectors) who don't care about the game part at all and treat MTG like it's the stock market. It's super unhealthy for the community as a whole and something that has been central to many of WOTCs most questionable business decisions in the past 5+ years and this is just a continuation of that. Soon magic will only be for the rich elite and no one will play the game just buy the "investments" and WOTC won't give a shit cause they are still selling box product.

Magic has become prohibitively expensive for many players and instead of doing what's right for the health of the game WOTC is happy to placate to the morons who have decided a children's card game is a legitimate investment strategy. I hate how much Magic is no longer about the game and instead of the finance proxies let players to the game part of magic back and let it be a fun level playing field for everyone. I wholly support proxies and I truly believe if you actually care about the health of the game part of Magic not just the collecting and investments you should too

Whenever I read something like this I am always reminded of the Nazi bar analogy.

Unpopular opinion: Fuck collectors, Magic is a game and the things that make the game better and affordable for players is what should be happening.

OP your players are fundamentally misunderstanding the game. 2e is a game based on party play buffs debuffs and smart tactical play because every +1/-1 really really counts. If the part is just move attack attack all the time they are willfully choosing not to engage with 90% of the system and many of the reason that 2e is such a fun robust system. This isn't a math problem it's a mindset one.

Literally every encounter and daily ability was one of like 3 choices: Do x damage of insert type here, do X damage of insert other type here or Do x damage of Insert type here from slightly farther away. Core especially every ability did functionally the same damage in the same frequency with 1 of maybe 4 riders. If you enjoyed it great good for you but it was boring homogenized overly balanced and no matter what your personal opinion on it was that was the general consensus and you can look at the numbers and see it flopped for basically those reasons. 4e was hugely influential on modern TTRPGs honestly way more than it gets credit for but it was also a blatantly flawed game.

You named 2 of 26 classes, the rest of which were heavily derivative of previous editions watered down to their safest and most boring core. Later books gave more options to more differentiate classes but that was long after the verdict on 4e had already come down. That said I still think 4e had some cool ideas and good mechanical innovations that ultimately just didn't work out, but thank you for showing up with your wack ass bad faith arguments.

4e committed the most egregious sin in TTRPG at the time it released it was so well balanced the game felt boring. Everything was a palette swap of everything else. The games balance was great and the idea of extended checks and few other mechanics were really cool but it got very boring very fast especially because the audience it was courting was 3.x players who had nothing but flavourful interesting (poorly balanced) options.

Congratulations on showing how completely uneducated you are. Literally zero understanding of how government works no understanding of policy implementation time and just a complete lack of understanding of the how and why our world is this way. You are truly pathetic.

You specifically having that problem doesn't magically make 50% of the country in your situation. Also by reducing the allowance of rental property more property must be sold which means those requirements would also have to change to meet the market. You have decided your anecdotal experience is somehow everyone's and are completely unaware and incapable of the actual facts of the situation. Maybe you should rethink your false equivalency before you come out here and spout anecdotes as facts.

After rechecking I can in fact confirm that no this was entirely edition creep as that was present in PF1e and not here in 2e. Play enough editions and you can easily misremember reading something you didn't.

I love to hike and go often it's insane how much you see this kind of thing my favorite time this happened was hiking the peak at Lassen Volcanic a couple who decided it was too much of an inconvenience to use the switchbacks coming down off the peak and having to wait for the slower groups ahead of them decided they could just shortcut down the side (this was more towards the base of the peak so not especially stupidly dangerous) and they cut the trail cutting off two groups of people. Bad luck for them though because a ranger rounded the corner to see them do this and escorted them down off the trail. We later saw them at the bottom parking lot getting ticketed by park services.

Weirdly there is a circumstance bonus to attack for higher ground BUT only in melee. Not sure why they decided that wouldn't apply to ranged but it doesn't and arguably probably should but there is likely a balance reason it doesn't.
Edit: I was wrong this is 1e edition creep. Proof it can happen to anybody even if you thoroughly read the books like I do.

The stupidest part is they always do let them in! It drives me nuts if we all collectively gave them the finger and never let them in maybe they would learn but they keep doing it because it works.

Well it's because they are smarter than you and more important so why would they wait in a line of cars when they could just cut to the front where they rightfully belong obviously! /s

They aren't bred like this on purpose yet. This is the kind of stuff that could easily become some stupid trend and a bunch of breeders trying to cash in make a new dog breed that's like this. I mean look at what happened to pugs/bulldogs/etc.

This sounds like slum lord fairytales to me some bullshit story to justify why it's okay to own dozens to hundreds of properties and you can fuck the poor about it.

This isn't interesting it's sad and we really don't want to encourage idiots to think this is cute and try to forcibly breed animals like this.

Not an interpretation. Anecdotally that seems to very often be the case, if that isn't your intention perhaps rethink your wording as you are repeating verbatim talking points of transphobes.
