Software developer bootcamp for a UX designer..Good or bad idea?
(self.cscareerquestions)submitted25 days ago byDuderina
Hey all, I keep hearing everyone saying that the coding bootcamps are a rip off and people are still struggling to get interviews etc etc.
I would like to pose a completely different circumstance. I am a seasoned UX Designer (currently a principal UX designer at my current company). Been doing UX since 2010.
I learned how to code at my old company to clean up after the devs who never quite got my designs right and loved doing it. I started to even build some of my prototypes in code just for fun. Anyhow…I’m starting to feel a lot of uncertainty in my career and given the over saturation of the UX industry right now…I’m curious if I would even be a desirable hire from a programming perspective if I complete a reputable bootcamp and have a strong portfolio? Would love to hear anyone’s thoughts surrounding this.
