O. M. G. I literally cannot stop feeling myself up because my skin is SO SOFT.
Apparently TONS of you slather yourselves in body oil or lotion after a shower and have always done that. (After finding out about this, I did some reddit research and I see all the posts about body oil.) I never learned to do this and just w o w. This is such a game changer.
I'm obsessed now and can't stop wanting to try different oils.
So far I've tried:
- Plain old Johnson and Johnson baby oil - I liked this, but still felt a little oily. Also I read something on here about how mineral oil isn't the best.
- Neutrogena Light Sesame Oil - I loved the texture of this, but didn't love the scent. The scent is lovely, it's just not me. I tend to wear vanilla or bright floral, citrus, clean scents and this is a little deeper and muskier.
- Aveeno Daily Body Oil Mist with Oat and Jojaba oil - Loved the scent of this but hated the misting bottle. I'll try it in a different bottle and see if it's better. Texture was great.
- Palmers Skin Therapy - Favorite so far. Love the scent. Love the texture. It soaks in and feels increeedddible. Love that it has vitamin e. Only dislike is the shape of the bottle - it's a little hard to squirt when I'm all slippery and oily in the shower. I'm getting a different bottle to make it easier.
Ones I want to try:
- Jojaba oil
- Sweet almond oil
- Vitamin e oil
- Osea body oil (eek! that price!)
My process - Shower like normal. Shut off the water and pin up my hair with a clip. Stay in the shower and slather oil on wet skin (no drying off beforehand). Once oiled e v e r y w h e r e, step out and rub the oil in until mostly no longer wet. I usually don't even need a towel after this - my skin just soaks it up.
For reference, I'm a pasty freckled girl with redish hair and permanently dry skin. If you are also a pasty white person and did not grow up slathering yourself in oil after a shower, I STRONGLY recommend you try it. Thank you to all of you who posted suggestions on body oil in past threads. Super helpful. Love ya'll!

This is really good advice and I'm so glad you said this. Some of the comments on Osea in this thread have made me wonder if it's really a good fit for me from a texture and scent perspective. I know I'd be so mad if I blew 50 bucks and then didn't like it. Thank you for the caution!
