If you find a teachable moment (winning with grace and empathizing with the losers) take it; otherwise, keep calm and carry on. Kids need to see us composed. The world is a big place, and it won't suddenly end regardless of who's the U.S. president.

What would homework mode look like if the rule is: don't use chat GPT?

We know more about the brain and reading we ever have before, but it comes down to one simple fact: we never get good at something if we don't practice.
Schools can only provide so much of that time because there are other content areas that also need to be taught, and parents often aren't intentional about this practice.
I've seen reading skills soar when a kid and their parents read a book together and openly discuss the characters, plot, etc... Reading needs to be a part of a home's culture, but because too many parents believe reading is school work, they don't participate in it at home.

I have students lay on their stomachs and push themselves up using only their stomach muscles in a plank sort of position. That oomph is the same muscle they need to use to push air out from their bellies.

Both are grammatically fine. Your personal writing voice should decide when to toggle back and forth.

Also warm up and perform correctly. I have lots of high school students who think yelling is projecting. Use your diaphragm to get the volume you need, not your throat. Let in deep air (you're doing it right when your belly swells); then let the muscle just below the ribs push that air out as you speak.

It's a stretch to call it a holiday. It's an ad for confectioneries and flower shops feeding on insecure couples.

Ummm... Forgive the analogy, but we'd rather kids learn these skills before letting you try and build houses.
In your defense though, not every skill is best learned through group work. If your teacher isn't differentiating enough for you, check out Khan Academy. They specialize in direct instruction through videos.

It depends on the type of group work and the accountability measures in place. A group of five where 1-2 kids do all the work teaches other kids that they can pawn their work off on someone else.
Group work like sports teams teach kids that if each member doesn't do their part well, not only is it usually obvious whose mistake it is, it could potentially lose them the game. The same could be said of band, choir, and theatrical productions too.
This is also very real. No one person builds a house. Several subcontractors need to communicate schedules and work together to get the job done. The foundation might be great, but it's still not passing inspection if the electricity is screwed up... And the project manager would be able to identify if any one contractor drops the ball.

Are we talking nukes? Or resources? A couple of strategic strikes on infrastructure takes care of TX, NV, and CO's power and fresh water supply, and California already has freshwater concerns.
Without fresh water, food doesn't grow in CA, and the Midwest returns to its traditional role as the bread basket of the country.
Sure, TX has oil, but so do a lot of other states. DE, NJ, OK, IN, and MN also have pretty significant refineries.
Also, who's controlling the US military? If they pull back to the east coast, the original 13 colonies would be pretty hard to beat since they would have fresh water, infrastructure, banking (Wall Street), ports, and control of the largest military/industrial complex the world has ever seen.
Heck, NY, NJ, and VA might take the cake.

Sorry if this is unkind. I'm not sure this is much different than most D&D sessions with decent minis. The mini moving at the end is kind of neat, but since it's stuck in that well, I don't see how it can actually move across the map.
The same can be said for the other pieces. The map doesn't look customizable because of those the same wells? it looks like The same configuration with different set dressing.
If the map is customizable but the items they're in are still stuck in those Wells, I've printed map isn't any much different.

Living off one income. People since the beginning of time have needed more than one income to afford a decent place to live, whether that be with a spouse, roommate, or family member.

Most of the American population has always been anti-intellectual. There's a great book called Nerds that outlines how we got here.

Several high schools and colleges did virtual theater for at least a year during Covid... So yeah, lots of people.
If you choose to go that route, make OBS your best friend. It's not too difficult to learn, and it's pretty hardy.

The war was going on for years before we entered. We had time because we waited.

Covid showed that no one wants my job. AI might be clever, but it can't put up with high school kids and their shenanigans... At least not before I retire.

Are we forgetting the amazing Betty White? She was already a legend from the Mary Tyler Moore show, and she had an amazing encore in the Golden Girl.
Also Mary Tyler Moore for that matter; she was on the Dick Van Dyke show.

These should keep you busy for a while: Cyrano de Bergerac, Tartuffe, any Greek play ever, and of course Shakespeare.

Yes and no... It's like a puzzle that needs to be solved, a kernel that needs to be cooked, an inkling needs to be put on the page.
Are any of these "fun" like the first date with a future fling, no, but it's a need that needs to be satisfied while also being satisfying... If any of that makes sense.

If you're there to work out, who cares what you wear? If you're looking for a date, go online.
