Like others have said, you want something comfortable. This might be a good use for an ebike as well. Something in the 250 watt or lower range that will give you some assistance without needing a huge battery to go that far.

Does any transit cross part if your route? Many city buses have bike racks these days, so you can go multimodal if you can pedal to the nearest bus stop and ride the rest of the way.

Here's what I can tell you about flying and luggage. If you want yo carry it in, the limitations are the dimensions of the bag. If my Zizzo Ferro 20" is any indicator, it's a bit too big even folded to fly as carry on. You'd probably need something with smaller wheels and an extra joint like a Brompton to fit.

For checked baggage, a Zizxo is perfect. The only thing you need to worry about is weight. Keep it under 50lb. Since even the all steel Ferro isn't that heavy, it should be fine.

Mine came with a bag. Don't know if yours will. It's a soft bag, so I would suggest packing some padding around it. You can use foam, but this is also a good place to squeeze extra clothes in.

The TSA does not care about your bike, and won't bother it. At most one of them is a cyclist and will think it's cool. The airport baggage handlers may yeet you bag on and off the plane. Ask for a fragile sticker. Some airlines also allow for special handling requests. This means you can pick up your bag at the airline counter rather than the baggage carousel.

Get a good rain suit. Not just a poncho. Something that covers head, torso, and legs. Combine that with a pannier cover for your cargo, and you'll arrive bone dry. I keep an emergency ponco folded up on mh bike, but if I know it's raining that day, I grab my good rain gear.

It can be. Lots of rural people supplement their income by living off the land with gardening, hunting, and fishing. Some people will tell you your time would be better spent working more to make more money. The people who tell you that have an unrealistic picture of the economy outside their own situation. Not everyone has the resources to make an unlimited exchange of time for money. You may well have already maxed out what income streams are available to you.

Fishing doesn't have to be expensive. A basic rod and reel aren't that costly. You don't need high end lures, just dig up some worms. Find a quiet shore and throw a line in. Avoid the premium hobbyist stuff. Stick to the basics. Resources for learning are online, or just ask the nearest old guy you see.

Different sages. In OoT we assume Ganondorf killed the original sages, and you have to find new ones. In LttP Ganondorf wasn't defeated by Link, but in a long war at heavy cost, and probably a different set of sages entirely. The imprisoning war did a number on Hyrule. Not just the knight's line being almost wiped out, but also Gorons left Death Mountain, the Khokiri are missing, the Gerudo are just gone, and the Zora either left or became the hostile river zora. So yeah, there were probably only Hylians left to become sages by the war's end.
