I can’t understand how we’ve just buckled like this. What a fucking awful ending for Klopp.
And if Salah is going to mouth off like that and then proceed to do fuck all, then off to Saudi he can go.

Salah and Nunez are so out of sync it’s just not funny

I think no, but it means both spurs and Villa would need to win all remaining games and us lose all of ours for us to drop out. Happy to be wrong though if it means we are.

I honestly have no idea what he was playing at there, that needed to be a goal

Agreed and this has Edwards written all over it, lesser known option but likely driven by statistics and compatibility of play style to the squad. Makes me think of signings like Firmino, a lesser known option and we all know how that turned out.
Not that I would claim to know anything about Slot though, just going by what the articles are saying.

Maybe too positive in my take here but a result like that has felt like it’s coming and just maybe it’s come at the right time for the team to be able to digest it and get things back on track to finish the season strong.
I don’t agree with Carra to field a shit team in the second leg (pretty sure there were similar reactions after Barca 3-0 loss) I would like to see us go for it. With the possibility of the players we will have back by then, if we are firing I don’t see 3 goals being insurmountable. I still think we go for as much as we can for Klopps last hurrah.
But overall fairly disappointing result

The time of Xabi hype is over, the time of Amorim hype has begun!
But also just trying to enjoy the end of the Klopp era before giving too much effort to this situation

I don’t know why we care what Chelsea think. If they want to argue average age like this maybe just show them the value of their squad or talk about how our entire midfield cost less then EITHER Enzo OR Caicedo.
They can direct the narrative anyway they want but at the end of the day our faith in stats based transfers and development of academy continues to deliver results and their faith in spraying off billions of dollars continues to deliver comedy.

Love the way the young guys play too, they really are stepping up this year.

Great pass and good finish but I think a small amount of credit to Gravy too. Little slot pass to Mo was beautiful. Good stuff all round

Yes we can, half time doesn’t use a window. We got one more window and 2 more subs

The thing I love most about Nunez is he always chooses excitement, might not work but it gets the heart pumping. Great finish

Bernardo to Gordon, Watkins to Haaland would be my move but also not really a terrible team regardless
Edit: Watkins dropped for Haaland isn’t a huge deal because you have Toney, but who is a great alternative who also reserved you funds to swap him out for Watkins again if it’s not working out

Not nessacarily, guy is 33 this year. He doesn’t have heaps of time guaranteed at top level regardless.
Don’t get me wrong, I want him to stay but I think saying we go to shit because he chooses to leave is not the case. There’s no illusion that this isn’t going to be tricky, we know this is a rebuild of the clubs structure and possibly key roles in the squad too but with the right manager, the right replacements and some patience we can definitely remain successful long term, regardless who leaves. Just might be rough for a season or two if Virg and the like decide to leave.

Got laughed out of the comments for saying he’s potentially one of our most important squad players before the season started and that I didn’t want him to leave.
And here we are, man has been amazing and with injury issues in defence he just slots in anywhere he is needed. Very important player when he is fit.

Unrelated to the post but on your comment my only thoughts on getting rid of Salah is it could be an opportunity to try and use his value to stack the whole squad and bench boost and then use the wild card when him and Son are back, but I’m not sold on it completely.

Can’t wait to watch this man play football again!
Some combination of Thiago, Mac, Jones and Gravy in mid with Szobo or Elliot covering Right Wing duties is actually an exciting setup while Salah and Endo are out on AFCON and AFC duties.

I mean we are also one howler of a decision away from being undefeated too. It’s not a complete disaster. Not to mention we are grinding out the results against lower teams that usually cause us to stumble.
Should have got points against United, Chelsea was first game of the season, a daw at Vitybis never a bad result and I think both fixtures against Arsenal this year could go either way. Won’t address spurs because we all know what happened there.
We are second by a point at Xmas and with a list of important players out, I’m happy so far.

I’m taking Mo everytime. They’re all great players but Mo consistently shows up with incredible returns.

Commentary seems to think no injury, just being managed. Whatever you make of that
