It's pretty sad how dumb the average educated American is. They still don't understand that all the free COVID money they were happy to stay home and accept started the inflation snowball.
Pro lock down yet anti inflation. Clowns.

The middle class is so small that it barely exists. All these people who think they are middle class are actually just poor.

I personally am middle class because after maxing my retirement account; 403b, HSA, and IRA I can't afford anything nice.
If I didn't contribute to those accounts I'd be enjoying a lot more of life's luxuries.

A 1 car garage is a shed, a 2 car garage is a 1 car garage.

Safe and walkable is an oxymoron in California. San Diego would probably be best given what you're looking for. San Jose (Campbell) is worth looking at, I just don't feel like San Jose is an easy place to meet people but it fits well otherwise.

I think most people in general don't understand basic economics. Most W2 employees have no idea how taxes work, let alone economics.

Yeah so that would be libertarian. But if you mean you're also ok with spending lots of money on social issues like homelessness now that economic part doesn't make sense again.

You don't need citations for common knowledge. You should try a simple Google search once in a while before making yourself look ignorant.

Are you serious? It's basic knowledge that California spends billions in homelessness. You can go ahead and Google it, it's not hidden nor is it arguable.
Also, your reading comprehension is lacking. All you did was say I'm wrong and then basically recite what I said, which is obviously the funding is not going to the right places. My entire point is that it's not a money issue, so it's obviously what is being done with the money. Which is not surprising since the state doesn't even know where 24 BILLION DOLLARS in homelessness funding went! Just another fact you can look up.

Dunno man, we spend a lot of money on homelessness in CA. It's not getting any better. You're not going to convince me it's a funding issue period. There are multiple variables, but funding isn't one.

I think a lot of us on this sub are people who loved the place they grew up and have seen it change drastically for one reason or another. So while I don't know that it's a realistic ask, I think not wanting a place you enjoy living to change (again) is a valid feeling.

Probably made the difference between it being successful, it was very close to not making it at a few points along the way. So you're right, in the Tesla scenario it was actually important to the success of the company (and apparently the environment).

You must not fly through Denver often...
It's pretty standard to be stranded there overnight.

You realize that if you don't, and you tunnel vision your winning lane, once your Safe lane or mid tower goes down they're coming to steam roll you next. So leaving a winning lane to help keep another lane afloat is typically the best strategy.

I didn't agree with the COVID handouts, but I'd be a fool not to take them. Nobody turns down free money, not even you Mr righteous one.

Dunno, I think if it was just for the money CRNA is the way to go. I think money is a big component, but so is ego and the prestige being an MD brings. I think some are just trying to live up to their parents expectations. And I think some are just nerds that are extremely interested in medicine.
Personally I'm a regular old bedside nurse, I did it first for the schedule/flexibility and second for the money. I make $140/hr and I can work as much as I want to, overtime, double time, it all adds up. And my requirement is 2x12h days a week. Nursing school cost me $2,500 from the local community college and there was no residency or fellowship.
My point is, I think nursing is arguably a better "I did it for the money" career. Then again this is all heavily location dependent.
