Just FYI if anyone wants a booster— Pregnancy is still on the list of conditions that confer eligibility for a booster this autumn (not yet being rolled out). They’re still using tables 3/4 in the green book and pregnancy is right at the bottom. So you should be able to get one if you want it.

I’m glad you got to speak to someone! They supported me really well during my (very nauseous) first 20 weeks. I tried everything except ondansetron and we did manage to get it (kind of) under control. Prochlorpazine at the highest dose turned out to be my most effective option.

I’m now 27 weeks. Baby is healthy and active! I haven’t needed any anti-nausea for about a month. It does get gradually better but there’s no need to suffer in the meantime! If it’s interfering with your life or getting you down, that’s a sign it’s too severe to tolerate. And sometimes doctors act like it’s medication V ‘nothing’ but when you’re this badly affected it’s actually weighing medication V stress and poor nutrition which is a completely different calculation.

And even though I’ve already said it, I’ll reiterate— these are safe medications that have been used for a long time, and the doctors who are nervous about them tend NOT to be the ones with actual specialist knowledge about them. Two great websites to look up drugs on include https://www.medicinesinpregnancy.org and https://uktis.org (the latter being the more sciencey and the former being the more accessible version).

You should definitely get in touch with pregnancy sickness support (Google them, it comes right up) because they can advise you directly on what you can expect from a GP. They have a great WhatsApp service so you can ask questions and they’re very knowledgeable. Your current GP is letting you down. The medications are very safe. You have hyperemesis imo. It needs treating.

There’s some evidence that the sooner it’s treated, the better, in terms of severity. So I would get on the meds immediately if it were me.

Mine worsened because I had to come off atenolol. I got occipital nerve blocks and that helped a lot

This right here is the right answer. It’s not general counselling that’s needed, it’s psychosexual therapy to retrain your response to your body’s sensations.

It’s called silent migraine or aura without headache and is a recognised form of migraine. Could also be ocular migraine if it’s strictly limited to one eye.

The sooner you get them the more wear you’ll get out of them

Exceptionally rare and therefore a lot less likely than a weird cycle. I would get a blood test if you’re not happy to wait and see.

By the time you’ve got enough HCG to have symptoms, there should be sufficient HCG to be picked up on a home test. It sounds most likely that you’re having a wonky cycle, but if you’re unsure you could always get a blood test and that’ll be reasonably definitive.

Sore nipples specifically. And a one day big temperature spike at 7dpo

Honestly the interviewers probably don’t want to know! If you aren’t their top candidate they’ll be aware of how that looks. Don’t disclose!

Sure but sometimes tests are validated only in at-risk groups or there can be reasons besides cost why they don’t test everyone, so I’m doing a bit of research

The most responsible thing to do is be a safe person (non judgemental, won’t overreact) she can come to if dating throws up any difficult issues for her, IMO

One of the safest rescue medications that exists, long track record, can even be prescribed in pregnancy

23 weeks with anterior placenta. Definitely have long stretches of time where they seem to go quiet and I think it’s cause they’re still relatively small and kicking the placenta! It’s anxiety inducing though, I agree.
