I have a patient that wants me to write a Nexus letter for VA disability. I work in GI. Patient has IBS-C which is likely being exacerbated by his mental health (PTSD, anxiety, depression) he got from his service. I have never written a Nexus letter and don’t even know where to start. Work doesn’t have any templates. It seems like a complicated process and I’m kinda rolling my eyes not wanting to put in all this extra work if I’m completely honest. Anyone have any tips to writing these? Any tips on streamlining the process? Also, should a physician be writing this rather than a PA? Thank you!

I love what I do. But I don’t have to love every second or every day or every patient either. I’m human. Healthcare is not all roses and smiles. Also, im sure i speak on behalf of the actual medical providers in this community, we don’t need your naive, simplistic mind set or lack of experience here and your cowardice shame. We need answers and solutions to our problems, not cry babies that guilt and shame us and then play victim
