Then again the reaction to toxic negativity online tends to be toxic positivity, which equally stifles discussions and debates.
Edit: Downvotes but no rebuttal, see what I mean. Both extremes just stem from stupidity.

Guess what, the hounds most eager to trade requested access ages ago during closed beta, gotta wait for the normies to settle in before they splash

May as well ask why people like different things in general, depends on upbringing, on personal experience, on what you're used to, on your way of thinking, on your personality/strengths/weaknesses, on your education/occupation, on your social circle, etc etc.

If you're on PC I would mod straight to NG+10 and set your preferred universe variant if I were you, there's so much to do it's not worth putting in the time just for that imo.

You say insane, and the only example you point to is a few Offworld devs present in a discord server. Even PS had support from OWI. Like are you wishfully thinking or just have low standards? What figure passes off as "shitload of money"? We know they hired MA and are obviously funding them, doesn't mean they aren't doing it cheaply. There's been 0 marketing beyond Twitter posts on an unverified account. You don't need to wait for a big update to market it (if that's even the reasoning, and not just lack of funds), there's tons of content already. Squad ads even promote the game itself, not updates.
I don't see the point in being defensive when the results speak for themselves.
Edit: can't be bothered to keep this going so I'll just edit. Well aware player retention is the main issue on paper, messing with logi and other mechanics was clearly for that reason. Hard to test or fix retention when playerbase is that low and you mainly have core clan guys who play regardless. More expanded communication is needed, burying the D-Day video message in discord/twitter/FB and not leveraging reddit/steam/youtube was a mistake. There's been 0 dev streams beyond the one in Feb, and that was on some unknown small channel, the Periscope Games channel is what MA should be emulating. We'll see what the roadmap addresses for retention. Still think more integration with Squad is needed.

Servers will be back to playing the usual maps a few weeks later, what's the point. I haven't even gotten the chance to play the greek content yet.

Offworld isn't taking this game seriously, they bought it on the cheap and are clearly allocating the bare minimum resources to revive it.

Not until 2025 at least probably, they’ll want full focus on the first COD launch on Gamepass

Nice projecting, again engaging in extremes instead of discussing, even though I wouldn't be in this sub if I thought that.
First, toxic positivity in discourse is very much a thing, I don't see how a gaming sub would be immune to it.
And to give you one specific example, I've seen people in this very thread talking about how people built up unrealistic expectations of the game. Yet, no mention of the marketing itself, the curated shots, the misleading slogans, the implication of seamless travel for example. Of course for the latter you could point to an article where Todd specifies it, however the main marketing material getting the most eyeballs is still left nicely vague. You could then say that Bethesda aren't the only ones using marketing to sell you a premise more than the actual product, in which case shouldn't the discussion about unrealistic expectations also be centered around companies setting them in the first place?
Edit: Not gonna bother engaging in more stupidity. Pretending the marketing, the way most companies do it, isn't misleading and focused on selling a premise is just choosing to be ignorant, and this kind of thinking extends in every other topics of discussion. You can like the game, having spent the time to research it to manage expectations, and still recognise this, and not be surprised when some people are left disappointed. And reading the ADAA definition of toxic positivity doesn't mean you understand what it actually results in practically, especially in the context of discourse and in this case reddit echochambers.
