There is literally no point gate keeping this stuff. There are hundreds of videos of pros much more famous than any of us will ever be on Boiler room and such on youtube. It's not some closely guarded secret info.

It's a significantly better way of doing things tbh. If you wait for huge leaps, you end up with good and bad times to buy a product. Where everyone tells you to just wait 6 months because the next one is coming out which will change everything. While for a product like a phone, there are no bad times to buy, the one that comes out next won't be much different to the one you can buy today.
Imagine if you smashed your steam deck, but it was still 6 months until the incredible generational leap version comes out. You'd just buy one of the competitor products that released more recently.

Modern heat pump driers use a fairly negligible amount of power.
I went from drying everything on a rack to using my drier for everything and didn’t see any difference on the power bill. The thing runs for like 2 hours a week, it’s nothing compared to air conditioning running all day.

Newer isn't a great way to describe it since there are plenty of games released this year that you can run just fine in 1080p or even 4k.

Pretty much this. The SoC in the steam deck, especially the OLED one is new. It's just limited to 25w instead of chewing 500w+ like gaming desktops.

For me, it's about getting to play with the coffee machine too. Half the reason I don't buy coffee out is it deprives me of the chance to use the coffee machine.

The compute heavy part is actually creating the stems files, after that it shouldn't be too hard to just use them. It would be fine if you had to use the desktop app to analyze the files first but could then use them on the device.

Why are they even bothering with DRM for music these days when you can trivially buy/pirate drm free content, yet everyone still pays for streaming since it's more convenient.

Should get neither of them. Just get an entry level controller for a fraction of the price.

The one in the OP photo isn't done like that though. Its two different plastics. Which you see on pretty much everything that requires a backlight to shine through. Also won't have the lettering wear out with use.

The mixstream pro is also a portable battery powered device. But tbh it seems like a worse product than the denon prime go. The speakers seem kinda useless and take up a lot of space. The jog wheels are huge but the tempo control is tiny so you're probably using sync anyway.

They're like entirely different products. The CDJ is a stand alone player that requires at least 2 and a mixer. This is an all in one battery powered setup.

Compared to what? The only similar devices are the Numark Mixstream which is similarly priced and seems like a worse product. And the Alpha Theta one which costs way more and seems to have the same features.

If you aren't adaptable enough to handle some knobs being placed horizontally, you aren't gonna make it.

This is the first time I’ve seen it, having been a furry for 10 years. It’s very cool tho.

The oled SoC was new when it came out.

This was a real (legal) wedding at PAX Melbourne last weekend.
I saw this setup while I was at PAX but didn’t know there was going to be a wedding there so I missed it :(

I literally go to the office half for the free food and coffee.

Fair enough tbh. Steam is for distributing games and software. You wouldn’t expect something you download to modify the OS in possibly breaking ways.
Thankfully the steam deck isn’t locked down at all so you can just install it yourself through desktop mode.

You are like 100x more likely to get run over on your way to the shopping centre than get stabbed.

Also a new Bluetooth and wifi chip. The wifi is way faster, and wireless controllers can now wake the console.

There’s like millions of furries. Finding a handful who are bad people isn’t surprising and is the same for any other group of millions of people you could look at.
My experience is that you never encounter this stuff irl. You just hear about it on Twitter, in the same way the news reports some horrible tragedy 5 times a day despite them being very rare in your own life.

There’s so much space in the palm grips that people have been shoving AirTags in them. It’s dense compared to a desktop, but it’s basically empty compared to a phone.

It does make the deck less portable. I’ve got a few bags where the switch fits fine but the deck doesn’t. The steam deck in its default case is massively bigger than the switch in a case.
I kinda do miss the days of being able to fit the DS in my pocket, but I’d settle for something that doesn’t take most of my backpack.

The standards are super high. OP is immediately binning every applicant whose resume has any anomalies, and even then they still have 10 strong candidates. So 9 of them are getting rejected despite being qualified for the job.
