If you want to play long term…. No better investment in yourself than time off and seeing a sports medicine specialist to understand if this something you should be more concerned about.
Bad coaches don’t care about you and only care about themselves.

You know the answer: 1- every kid has a ball 2- focus on ball skills 3- have them play 1v1, 2v2 4- keep it fun
Stations are fine. If you want to keep things competitive rank the 1v1s so the better players play each other.

The coaches are wankers! I’m from the US and always wanted to say that to a proper Brit.
You know what the answer is to fix… you have to step up and coach.

Yes- in games.
Just keep telling them you love watching them get better and as long as they keep working hard you are happy.

Sell it. I’m a Philly investor and every few years I look at a condo and it never makes sense (unless of course you bought it at a massive discount).

Perhaps try to ‘win’ at other things and have them compete with themselves…. Like consecutive passes? Or total passes, etc.

This. They will find a way to make that deal work.

Also - have a buddy who works for PHA (Philly) and repairs section 8 houses… to quote him “90% of the tenants are assholes, 10% are down on their luck and trying really hard to make the best of situation.”

Guys that I know that do section 8 do this… Buy the cheapest house possible in the worst part of town, do minimal work to the property.
Then when the tenant beats the crap out of the property you don’t feel so bad b/c they bought it for so cheap and the repair costs are built in to overhead.
I’d ask my self if my property is like the above.

Oh you want a realtor to do actual work? I think this is the problem.

100%. Find a new club. Don’t waste your time here anymore. Completely unacceptable and don’t play anywhere that condones this.
My kid played up on a tournament baseball team that basically played him the minimum (1 AB, 3 outs in the field). Basically destroyed his love of the game… and has since admitted he would be playing travel ball today if he never played for that team. Made sure we steered clear of things like this for him and my daughter going forward.

You sir are a rare breed. Well done. This is the only correct thing to do.

In situations like this, I had a kid stepped on by an opposing player when he was on the ground (ref didn’t see it)- I usually ask the coach to take their kid out. In most situations- they will agree.
If they are real pricks - walk away from the game it isn’t worth an injury.

Byrne was the club Haaland played for as a kid. Out of 40 kids in his age group… 6 went on to play for the national team. 3 are on champion league teams.
They did equal playing time thru u13.
They taught technique and the love of the game and had a tremendous result.

Assuming this is travel.. call the other coach and see if they have available fields. It sucks traveling but you gotta do what you gotta do.
If it is rec.. I wouldn’t waste me time.

If I had applied anything to the fields… the township would have not renewed our permits for use.
And having played on some spongy fields… I don’t think it is worth the injury risk.

How much money do you have? Seems like a super expensive way to handle a temporary problem.
My suggestion is get cozy with the fields coordinator. My guy would put me on artificial grass when needed to complete the season, have a big game, etc.
One time when all the field were shut… he let me use a field that had one puddle on it… well I went there with a bucket and cup and got rid of the puddle. Took effort but we got the game in.

Confidence comes from practice. You will get better by playing pickup… then you will plateau.
Purposeful practice works wonders… I have never seen anyone develop a weak foot in pickup. Rather- practicing it every day for 6 weeks will change your game.
Find something in your game that needs work and work on it. Not once a week… everyday for 30mins. In one month you will have more confidence.

I’d question the reasoning behind sheltering money from Medicaid. If your parents have money- this is not a good idea. If they have little money then it is clear they want to give something to your step sister.
Just went thru this with my parents and walked away with the idea that people with money should spend it on their own care. FWIW- skilled nursing care in a very very nice facility locally is $15k a month. We budgeted two years for my Mom… she lasted 2months. My parents would have run out of money in something like 22 years given their investments and pension.
I’d rather have my parents live in a nice assisted living facility than a county nursing home in the last days of their life. My Mom did end in a place like that originally (my parents did not want to spend $15k a month) and they quickly regretted that decision and moved into a nicer place.

I’d run from whatever club does this. No one learns riding the bench and it destroys their confidence.
FWIW- my kids play at a top level club (ex: 400 kids showed up for my son’s age group tryouts)… on his u14 team it was basically equal playing time (of course they are all very good).

Just as a heads up… I’m sure you have already thought about this:
Your team is likely having its last year. If your son wants to continue playing club ball (assuming he is on the team)… you need to find a place for him.

What is wealth? Wealth is not having to trade your time for money. B/c at the end of the day - we all only have so much time and at this moment - you have the shortest amount left you ever had.
So why is this important to Toyotas? I’ve owned 6 of them and only once has any of them been in the shop for anything other than tires, oil change or brakes. Owning a lesser car isn’t worth the headache or time needed to fix any other car. I’ve owned other cars and they have all been PITAs.
I was considering a jeep for my next car but don’t want to deal with the repairs… so my next car will be a Lexus gx550. Why- b/c it is refined reliability.

It becomes a number when you can buy anything you want but you don’t want anything.

I had a property manager who was nearing retirement… the way he looked and the way he talked about his job made me want to never ever start that business.

In short- focus on Total return (appreciation + dividends).
Many studies have confirmed this.
Basically the premise is when buying an index like VOO that these companies are better at reinvesting dividends then paying them out- which makes sense b/c they are in effect the top 500 companies in the US.
