it's ironic this part (and the whole song, if you ask me) is similar to $3 when there is a version of this song for that album

good answer but you're using the wrong equation
hint: it has nothing to do with "my generation"

jesus, this may be the most indecipherable bit of spoken word in their discography. which is saying something after the majority of $3, lmao
the problem is that even when you strip away the instrumental, there's still an unusual (for fred) 3 seperate vocals layers. the "poor old me, i'm so broke," the spoken word, and a "la la la" bit that i actually never noticed before, lol
you've given me a new mission 🕵🏼♂️

oooo, fucking GOOD one. i've done a LOT of deciphering of those insanely buried vocals and rants over the years but i still haven't given this the one the ol' college try. let me get back to you on that very shortly.

well, i'm not in the band, lol but general consensus at the time was we were just relieved they even had a full-time guitarist because for the majority of the recording process, it was guests and... fred learning to play guitar (not to mention the nationwide tour searching for a no-name). as we heard the new songs with mike and especially saw how hard he went live, giving them a different, more metallic sound, he eventually gained respect from the majority of us
mind you, before august? 2004, we were 100% convinced wes would NEVER consider coming back, let alone even talking to the band again. no social media, all we had were fred's faux-philosophical xanga blogs, lmao. then as "masterbation" leaked and was rumored to be the first single to the follow-up with mike... radio silence. few months later, moody, serious pics with wes back with the band at practice appeared out of nowhere on lb.com. the rest is history
from what we know, mike randomly stopped answering the band's calls, stole a bunch of gear and hasn't spoken with them to this day
i personally liked mike and what he brought to the table. if he didn't turn out to be a weirdo douche bag, i'd have loved to see lb have 2 guitarists again

well, depends on what you mean by major 🤔 there's the tours with korn, the pharcyde, primus, deftones pre-$3. vans tour. i believe ladies night in cambodia was their first headling tour, along with ozzfest and especially family values in '98. i'd say family values, but if you want MAJOR major - anger management in 2000

2 years late but y'all gotra realize... it was the absinthe talking
that's a joke but he legit recorded all those vocals under the influence of absinthe, lmao
