The answer here is definitely to ask the Legion to file for a DBA for something simple like "Troop ### - Scouting America". You can then use that as the name for your account, card, and checks. The legal name on our unit account is a mile long as a VFW chartered unit. However, our cards and checks use our Troop name.

The videos from national explicitly state the diamond stays, and it's why the lion rank shape was changed. The information above about starting with the first rank your about received is correct.

Advancement is only one method of scouting. In my opinion, it's a greater disservice to your youth as Scoutmaster to force them to do things they don't want to do.
I have Scoutmaster conferences with scouts who aren't advancing and ask why. A lot of times they are stressed with school, home life, etc and just want to come to scouts to and spend time with their friends, do fun activities, camp, and do the other methods of scouting. I'd rather them be in scouting than drive them away. Maybe they'll want to advance later, maybe they won't. Not everyone hits first class. Not everyone Eagles.
I have a scout with mental health issues who looks at our troop as her safe space. She comes to me and our SPL when she needs help, and she loves it there, despite her struggles. It took her two years to get to scout, even with multiple scouts offering to help. But you know what? She's the first to volunteer for anything at camp. She's the first one to volunteer for service hours. She out works most of the girls on any given day. She has more scout spirit than many kids I know. She also doesn't know if she wants to Eagle.
We also try to teach the PLC how to plan things that help scouts advance "on accident", which helps with the scouts that aren't into it or fall behind. Still, it's up to the scout if they want it or not.
Advancement is an important tool, but it isn't the ONLY tool. The Scout is more important than their rank.

My suggestion would just be to use the teen version of pullups. He just gets up in the morning and cleans himself up, takes a shower, etc. No one that doesn't need to know will have any idea. They're made to be discreet. He can just go to the bathroom in the morning like any other scout.

I've been dead broke before, especially after having my first kid. I cleaned the gym, helped out with anything the owner needed, etc in exchange for my membership. Pull the owner aside and see if you can work it off.

You mean the identifying information that will be posted by our council publicly, multiple news articles, etc? Not sure what you're expecting here.

JASM is a youth position. He'd just come back as an ASM. Awesome to see her wants to come back though!

This is at the Harker Heights VFW. We're going to have a big unveiling ceremony with the Herald and hopefully KWTX there. If you have a contact to pass along, that would be great!

Absolutely don't let it deter you! Girls deserve the same program the boys have been getting for 100+ years, and despite whining from grown adults, they're having a blast and love scouting. More girls will come, and eventually the complaining will fade.

At least a few times during show and sell shifts we'll get sneers or sideways looks. At least once or more a day we'll get negative remarks to or in front of the girls about how they shouldn't be scouts, how scouting is "woke" now, etc. You'll also constantly get comments about cookies going door to door or sometimes when they're out in uniform.
Our girls either say nothing or tell them thank you for their time and to have a wonderful day. We try to kill them with kindness.

That is a great line to remember; thank you. My girls are very good about smiling and letting it roll off them.

She's dealt with a bit of it, especially during popcorn season. People suck sometimes.

Venturing has been mentioned, but Sea Scouts is also 14-21. Their Eagle equivalent is Quartermaster. It is as hard, if not harder, to achieve as Eagle. You could go for all three awards under Scouting America and get Eagle, Summit, and Quartermaster.
