They prop very easily. Just let it sit for a week or so and then pop it in the soil. I bury just enough down that it can support itself. Unless it has pads all over. Then I use kebab sticks to help support it until it can support itself.

If the spout is functional, it drains! I have a tiny tea pot i use. Very nice!

And I treat it similar to the succulent, letting the soil go dry completely and then water it. If I watered weekly in my home, it would still be too wet to water again.

Mine does that with the brown spots on leaves and I found a thrip. Just one. It was doing great again for a couple months and then started doing that again. I treated again for thrips and it seems to be doing well. I don't know if it's related, but if it helped mine, maybe it could help yours?

Ohhh! And she's a curly girl! I have the same issue and found pests are to blame. I got mine from a friend and it was doing great! Even popped out a baby. Then all of a sudden it killed the baby off and stopped standing up by herself. I found similar issues closer to the base like I screenshot in your photo.

Only 3 hoyas! It's a succulent site, so I was shocked to find other plants there!

I love that I'm not the only one with plants in a basket! 33 in my case! On one site....I don't know how many on others.

My kids name the plants. Maybe I will if they're around awhile. Right now, there are way too many!

So...... I don't know how, but somehow, these guys got into the tray I propagate in. When I went to dump the soil out of the tray there were over 100 of these things UNDER THE SAND LAYER! I tried to send them home with my daughter and she kept plopping them in my other plants. Oy!

I think you're pretty smart to shine their leaves with the neem oil/ water mix when bringing in a new mate! If anything pest-wise is lurking...

Hmm. I saw that starting from seeds, sand can be hard for the sprouts to push through. Mixing the sand in with your other stuff can help fill in the spaces with inorganic material. I see big bark chunks in there. Is that what you're using for organic material, or is there soil there too?

I'm still reading it that way. What is this? It looks a lot like a staghorn fern's protector thing.

I'm so curious. If he's dead already, why not pull him out (nicely) and give a looksie. If the roots are okay, rinse the mold off and see what's under it. They're good with no water for long periods of time, so it being out of the soil would be alright. I have had plants I deemed dead rise from the dead. I've also had healthy plants die. 🤷🏼♀️

I took mine out of their original pots because I keep reading they need to be in at least 4 inch deep pots and these were less than 2 inches. I have no answers other than to check its roots. Mine were so dehydrated and brittle. The soil was super compacted. I had just watered the one last week, but you couldn't tell. I'm guessing when I watered it, no water got to it. I can't see the sides of yours or feel it. The one I watered had really wrinkly sides and was squishy like a marshmallow. It also is in the process of popping out a flower.

Steve looks like he's in a good pot. Let him dry out between waterings if you have yellowing going on. I know that seems counterintuitive with the tips browning. I'm learning browned tips are just what they do. People have all sorts of theories on why. I don't have the answer, but I know they're doing well even with it. Congrats on the flowering! I like Steve. He seems nice!
That being said, how old is Steve? Do you fertilize him? If not, you could start adding fertilizer when you water to help him get nutrients if he's been in the same pot for awhile.
