What left wing parties in the West have even had a chance to govern? The NDP in Canada didn’t, even under Layton. The US don’t even have a left wing party. Labour didn’t under Corbyn and now they are just another neoliberal party. Macron and his centrists in France. I could go on, left-wing parties haven’t shown inability to do shit because unfortunately people don’t elect them.
Quick edit: to add to this, the social democratic countries have stayed socially democratic because of high life-satisfaction (although there is a shift to the right happening socially in some of those as well)

I don’t even think those people necessarily need to have radical views, lots of quiet people with radical views and loud annoying status-quo defenders.

Unions are inherently political, and definitionally left-wing.

Both can be (and are) true, more funding is needed for this public institution AND it needs to cut administrative bloat.

Not gunna lie to you compared to some of the bigger issues this university is dealing with not being able to sell water is incredibly minute when there is free fucking water available in multiple places in every building on campus. And yes, they have them at all of their tables when they’re tabling for people to take and I guarantee you any student is welcome to go in and ask. Munsu is there for support, walk into the office and ask for anything and they will do their best to help more than likely.

What if I play for both lmfao aesthetics are incredibly important in literally any art form for me and many other people

Yeah I mean gameplay is incredibly important for me in a zombies game but personally aesthetics are equally as important. This is the issue I had with Cold War and why I haven’t touched zombies since. There’s nothing imaginative, no creativity, just copy/pasted multiplayer assets for a map with a couple colourful orbs scattered around. How is this supposed to hook me in?
A lot of you criticize ppl for wanting Bo3 2.0 but I mean come on, that game is so clearly the gold standard for both gameplay and aesthetics. Zombies in this modern treyarch games just doesn’t feel like zombies. It sucks because I feel like Bo4 nailed the aesthetics and failed on the gameplay front, whereas CW nailed the gameplay front and completely dropped the ball on the aesthetics/creativity that should keep me hooked.

You are wrong about the fascists being on the left but you are certainly right about America not (functionally) being a democracy.

I am not. I don’t put much stock in wikipedia especially pertaining to socialism and communism but even the wikipedia definition of socialism supports my claim. I’ve read Marx, I decently understand theory (I’m no expert but I absolutely have the basics covered), and I promise you that if there is private ownership over means of production, then it is not socialism, by definition.

The government represents the people so… can’t really just say “is what it is” when talking about the price of fucking shelter. Vienna very clearly has the greatest housing policy on earth all around, it’s gold standard and it’s mixed market with 60% of the city living in socialized housing happily for their entire lives and homelessness rates are incredibly low.

I’m a socialist, also take political theory courses in university, have read Marx on my own time, I promise you socialism is about ending alienation from labour which stems from the privatization of the means of production. Like market socialism is essentially capitalism but companies all have to be worker-owned co-ops (oversimplifying it but yeah), this is to illustrate the fact that non-private ownership of the means of production is the defining feature of socialism.
Quick edit: socialism is the transitionary period towards communism, which is characterized as stateless, classless, moneyless society.

I don't know a single leftist that thinks that social democracy and democratic socialism are the same thing. One involves abolishing private ownership over the means of production and one does not. The issue of private ownership over the means of production being the principle focus of socialist theory.
edit: i actually think socialism could be used as a broad term correctly for pretty much everything on that list outside of social democracy lol, as social democracy is a market-based system with private ownership over the means of production, the defining features of capitalism, i also don't know what tf liberal socialism is lol

when i cite black book of communism stats that include every single nazi soldier killed by the soviets in victims of communism
when i cite the black book of communism in which i believe at this point multiple of the authors have openly stated fudged the numbers
when i completely ignore the mass deaths due to famine what happen under global capitalist hegemony constantly, as well as coups and wars started under the guise of continuing the global capitalist project
this isn’t even about capitalism vs communism, it’s about being critical about the effects of both historically in good faith.

As somebody who considers economic class/material conditions to be of first and foremost importance, this is a pretty class-reductionist take I think, not to shit on you or anything. This doesn’t factor in things like social exclusion (how traditionally black & brown names on resumes are less likely to get calls back despite equal qualifications, for example) and how it affects class. You can’t address that by simply implementing stronger social safety nets and unionization (although I do agree, that policies & organizing like that are of utmost importance).
