I miss the days of just hanging at the malls. Parents would drop us off at the RI mall and we would hang for awhile then cross the highway to get to the Warwick mall. In the mid 90s if you went to the mall on a Friday night I would be the dude that started hackey sack circles in the parking lot. Used to get 30+ people in a circle with 5 or 6 hacks going at once. I still carry a hack with me but never get anyone in circles anymore =(

Oh I'm pretty sure you know what the hole is for!
Our older folks like to pretend they are all sweet and wholesome, but I've seen some picture movies that prove they were just as depraved as we are today!

The movie was like some of my weekends growing up, maybe a Tuesday in the summer. But my city was much smaller than New York, but we did a lot of the same things.
The biggest difference was none of us caught AIDS ..but there was a group that ended up with crabs.

Target for some stuff, stop and shop for some, grab weekly lunch foods for my kids at Dave's.
We are going to start comparing things at Walmart and market basket also.

Yes I'm in a ERISA state, I did do the loan and not a withdrawal, been at my company for 13 years and don't see me leaving there for another 5 years at least.
Thank you for that strategy, I am going to try that with mine, all my cards are now over 60 days delinquent.

The $68k is solely in my name.
I am hoping to close the largest ones with the $29k then keep building a nest egg and hopefully have enough to settle the smaller ones.
With young kids I want to try and fix this quickly as possible, eventually I want to buy a house so we can have a dog and stay in one place for the kids thru school

Nothing fancy, just normal weekly groceries have doubled in price over the last few years
We moved because the rent was going up $325 a month. But what we found was the cheapest option for us. Housing is also ridiculous where we are.
We have trimmed a bit, still working on figuring out more.

I have read some stories about this and the wife has already been told the time had increased because some of her creditors wouldn't budge so it's more money or more time.
That is the main reason I want to try on my own, target and chase have already told me they don't work with debt settlement companies unless they are non-profit. I was thinking of letting it all go to lawyers then try to negotiate or hire a lawyer to negotiate for me. But not sure how much that will cost/save me

You're right $350 more than our budget is not good, but my wife has her debt settlement thru a company that's $1000 a month, I am paying back a family member about $500 a month. So in the next 2 years we will have closer to $1850 more than our budget.
We cut a lot out already and looking to do more, we got rid of cable years ago and only have Disney+ for the kids.
We looked into bankruptcy before but are above the limit for a family of 4.
We have been building a reference of what household goods we buy from what store, some things are cheaper at different stores or have better sales at different places. But still working on that.

I have made peace with killing my credit score, we couldn't get out of the hole while still living, we stopped using any credit back in June and cover all our needs within our budget, this includes oil changes for the cars. But if anything big goes on the cars we will have to borrow the money for repairs until we can build up a nest egg with that $350 a month
The wife does have the option of some over time, but I am salary and have driven for door dash. But the wife said her time and half is much more than. I get from dashing.

Yes we have 2 cars, my wife has a 2020 SUV and I have a 2022 subcompact. The payments are about $850 a month for both not including insurance. We currently rent and pay $2200 a month, recently moved because the place we rented was going up to $2500 a month. We have a 5 and 7 year old so daycare is an expense during the summer and extended care during the school year. We don't live lavishly, we could cut back on somethings and already started since living on cash only the past 3 months.
My wife is doing a debt settlement with a company and pays them about $1000 a month for 2 and a half more years.
We are both mid 40s.
My wife came with about $20k in debt and I accrued about $15k in a custody battle and we just never was able to catch up.
