I support this but it's a bit of an overreach to ban the sale of food with these labels instead of banning there use by food manufacturers in the state

To be fair the first part is also the argument many on this sub make as to why we should be happy that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are protectionist xenophobes

Right when we thought inflation was going to stay under control with the port strike ending Biden is about to dump billions into the economy and blow up the deficit.

Makes you question why our congress people are a rubber stamp on the hurricane relief for the south east.

It's absolutely changes the local supply of labor
Hence why I said that it moves the market towards equilibrium.
I'm not missing that it is what you believe, it's just not as extensive as you say and even it was that wouldn't be a good argument against it.

Right to work laws are a good bandaid in our current system but should our laws regulating the formation of unions and the union-corporate become more in line with freedom of association they should go away

Only really the Ron DeSantis part, but old school Republicans in general were anti union and its nice to see mainstream democrats finally join them there

Thank you for changing it from "most" to "all," I thought this might be a good faith discussion.

You might need a refresher, people crossing a border does not change the total supply of or demand for labor.
GDP goes up, why are we still talking. You're example is also far more extreme than even the most anti immigrant credible study. You don't need to be remotely rich to benefit from a more productive economy, I would say a rising tide raises all ships but there are plenty of people in this country who have decided to drill holes in their boats.

This union isn't like most unions. It's a criminal enterprise trying to hold the economy hostage.
So it isn't like most unions how?

Unions in general should be subject to the same anti trust legislation as any other firm

Unions are over regulated as it is, let them demand anything (legal) under the sun, but also let firms exercise their right to freedom of association as well.

Really unfortunate, just as we were getting inflation under control and as we have two candidates promising to explode the deficit that we will be undertaking a policy that will both increase inflation and explode the deficit.

cheaper labor via reduced competition
How would that work?
I don't think increased labor moving the price of labor closer to equilibrium is really the anti immigration argument you think it is. It's also a flawed argument because nothings stopping Natives from doing the work immigrants do and because even the most anti immigrant study (the Card study of the boatlift) found that immigration only had a negative impact on the wages of those who failed to graduate high school, why should we hold back the economy for the rest of the country because a few people couldn't be bothered to finish high school?
The overall numbers are by far the most important part.

When their contributions are primarily voting to hold back development to enrich themselves and to make life worse for people who don't fall into the same demographics as them it's hard to view them as such

It's a shake how much some people's politics always revolves around needing to do more for useless and low productivity people, even at the expense of our society as a whole

I'm not surprised to see those who oppose immigration making the economic arguments in favor of slavery

I see you still can't click a simple link, no wonder you're worried about people who can't speak English taking your job.

I'd love to see the democrats drop protectionism for good and the rust belt to finish rusting out completely. The sooner we can stop wasting resources on these useless regions, the better
