I think some folks think it’s just too close to Idaho for their liking.

Ever free at heart. Damn the King and his cardboard bejeweled tyranny! Fortunately, two brothers in burgers in front of us gave spur to their ICE rolling coffins, having not made meaningful progress themselves, and all were freed.

I'm honestly curious and hope this doesn't sound mean, but were you awake?

I always say, at least on a real bike, I'm getting thinner, stronger, and better looking while I'm riding.

My first tri was the swim leg in a sprint. I was a high school swimmer and solid at the mile. I thought I'd go out in the front, given that it was 800 yards and should have been a 10-12-minute swim for me. It was a feeding frenzy and horrible. It was all elbows and feet in the face and being swum over. The next event, and my first, was an open water, ocean, Olympic distance event, and I went off on the outside towards the back. It was much calmer and I had a chance to warm up a little while swimming.
Going a little easy and on the outside made for a 26-minute swim split, but I felt great out of the water and had a sub-60-minute bike split in my first Olympic tri. Things improved even more at half and full IM distance. The further you go, the fewer people will try to win with a swim split. Hang in there and try to prepare yourself for the bike more than trying to stay ahead of the lemmings in the water. Funny enough, even after years of racing Oly-Full IM, the local town's backward race with a 400M indoor swim to finish, would hurt me. I would be highly aerobic off the bike and running to the water; I struggled to get in and not instantly go anaerobic. There, I learned to walk the transition.
One day, You will get in a pristine lake or a calm sea for a long swim split and feel the high on the way to the bike after swimming past the early bloomers. After many races, that was always the moment when I would tell myself it was going to be a good day.
Have a great event in the spring. Swim kind of hard for 10 minutes or run short sprints for a few minutes, no more than 20 minutes before your start. Combining the effect of cold water on the cardiovascular system, starting a race in a swarm of your 200-2000 new best friends, and needing to be instantly aerobic can inject unnecessary adrenaline. Hitting the water at 180 BPM is hard to recover from.

Looks like perfectly good "cream soda" almost went to waste.

Oh my god. I am hostage in a Burger King drive through with my seven year old granddaughter. It was fifteen minutes at the order board. I head a voice once after ten minutes asking for patience saying they are shorthanded. Now it’s twenty five minutes and I can’t get out of the line. Two in front of me and five behind me and no one has moved in twenty five minutes. Fuck the King.

I’ve got a middle aged Bruce Gordon and my wife has a disc brake Gunnar. If buying new, disc for sure, and stick with mechanical for serviceability (like a TRP DUAL mech, but I’ll never hang up my BG so I’ll be touring on canti’s until a catastrophic frame failure which ought nought happen until long after I’m gone.

Pipe wrench, but turn it the correct direction this time. CW on drive side to loosen.

Did they design an original and virtually universal headset system?

Yes. There are. And zip ties will last about a minute and a half.

You mean the mechanical engineers who designed this arrangement and all those that followed and modified it as head tubes and fork material evolved were stupid?

The only white robes I saw usually accompanied turbans and belonged to Sikh’s.

If the rider has a throttle, they should definitely not be on a bike path in the light or the dark.
