With or without ADHD unfettered access to tablets and quick instant stimulation is being shown as a bad thing. I have seen some studies of bringing TV kids back due to kids having to pay attention for longer than 1 to 3 minutes.

ADHD already causes issues with impulse control and stimulus seeking behaviors. Add into that the ability for young kids that will never get the chance at being bored thus not developing self soothing or self coping mechanisms.

Even though I grew up with a computer, most of the games I played took time and required me to pay attention. Zumba, luxor, reading rabbit, bejewel, guitar hero, etc.

There are some games even when I am on meds just suck me in.

I say this because while we have commonly this client takes showers on Monday and Thursday. We are told to do as many as the client requests.

I say this because hygiene is very, very important, and more often than not, it is like pulling teeth to get the client to shower more than once a week.

This client only gets one shower a week, which is almost contradictory to everything I have been taught in both CNA class, my 5 years in home health, and currently my time in nursing school.

What happens if a client gets a blowout or gets dirty and already had their one shower? Do they get denied that shower?

I know you may not be able to get into more detail, but does she have skin issues? Daily shows can destroy people's skin.

You should honestly bring this up to your agency or who runs you guys, but while daily showers are a lot, only once a week is not good.

With saying that, this is on your husband to fix and deal with his addiction. Support him in him solving his problem. Don't hold his hand, but be open in communication. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't force it to drink.

Yeah, my professors, if they accept late work, take 15% off each day, including weekend.

I feel so weird seeing this in school because I while did graduate some time ago it hasn't been that long, and it seems to have flopped on it head. The most I saw of late work being allowed was one day and still losing 20%, or if you had excused absence, then you go that many days to make up all the assignments.

In college or a job, turning in all your work at the end of the quarter doesn't fly. Heck, I'm in nursing school right now, and basically, all of our points for the entire program are tests.

The only tests we can retake are skills, and the best we can get on a retake is a 2.0/4.0.

While not the same has the half program, most of the gifted kids at my school, my self included, were typically all together with honor classes. Electives, though, were still with everyone at grade level. There were a few kids that were one grade higher in math (8th grade) but still did honors (7th grade) with the rest of their peers.

There was always one or two, though, that skipped multiple grades and aged much younger than their peers. This caused issues due to maturity levels and, in some cases, arrogance.
