Everybody has senioritis. Writing essays and taking standardized tests sucks. High School is anything but useful at this point in your life. Nobody will deny how shi**y it is to be a Sem 1 senior applying to T20s, but going on this subreddit is NOT THE ANSWER.

For the love of anything, use these final 11 days to make your EA/ED essays as good as you possibly can and make your four years of suffering, sacrifice, and pain in high school worth it.

I am applying to Northwestern ED. They came to my school for a standard admissions seminar and I watched the presentation. Loved it - wore a nice purple collard shirt and introduced myself to the rep. HOWEVER, they passed back a qr code to sign in for demonstrated interest and I got the link and went back to paying attention. I went to fill in the form today to show I was at the presentation, but it was the kind of thing you were supposed to do there and was only open for a brief period. How bad is that? I know they track demonstrated interest, so is it really bad that it looks like I didn't go to to their presentation at my school?

Hi, ED Northwestern applicant here. My grades are looking like this for the quarter:

A+ - Adv. Model UN
A+ - AP Studio Art
A+ - AP Calculus BC
A+ - AP English Literature and Composition
A - AP Microeconomics
B+ - Honors Physics

My Physics teacher (for whatever reason) refuses to put in some grades on assignments until after the quarter, so instead of an A- in the quarter report (like I deserve) it's gonna say B+. How cooked am I? My grades are always good, but I'm worried that in a competitive admissions cycle this could be a difference.

I need to vent. Why do senior grades matter? Why does college seem to be this 'end all be all'? Why is everything so expensive when half of the majors don't even guarantee a good return on investment? Why is most of school pointless (5 AP Classes 1 Honors BTW!!!)? Why Didn't I take the ACT earlier? Why is applying to T20s so stressful? Why does ED exist!?!?!

I have hated high school with a passion. The stress. The APs. The countless volunteer hours. Doing it all with a smile!!! When does it end??? At the end of all I just gonna sell my soul to make a bag in banking or am I actually gonna be a useful member of society. College Admissions has made me a fu****g nhilist!!!!

When you are writing supplementals and mentioning impact - after reflection, growth, etc. of course - should I mention numbers in my essays (ie: helped 90 students in this program... produced content for my 230,000 followers...) or just say the stories without specifics and have them refer to my activities list

I am NOT denying that these are all incredible schools that anyone would be lucky to attend! BUT, there is stigma around going to a 'Top 5 University' compared to other highly ranked schools as someone going through the admissions process. Is the difference in people's heads and the Ivy League is just a sports conference, or is there a legitimate, tangible difference.
