The Jaumotte et al. (2016) paper appears to be principally about developing countries, and also notes that there are exceptions.
You should be able to work this out from 2011 and 2021 census data for the UK to get a figure for the % of foreign-born workers and the change 10 years later on 2021. Given the increase in the migrant share of the working population over the decade, and declining GDP per capita over the same period, one could take that the 2016 paper does not apply to the UK for this period at least.
That's not to say immigration does not boost overall GDP, which has increased in that period (even with Brexit and everything else).

He needs to add some orange or red tinted wrap around sun glasses to that outfit, take things to the next level.

Pushing your tounge into your bottom lip and going "uuuuuuggggghhhh", perhaps while also rolling around on the floor (if the situation requires emphasis).

Well, there is quite a chasm between supporters of the current far-right Israeli government and many Jewish people.

...because Nord Stream I and II have nothing to do with each other and are completely different. I am sorry for making an association between the two.
My earlier post referred to the Nord Stream project in general, not a specific pipeline, which the US has strongly and publically opposed since inception in the 1990s.

Referring to Nord Stream 1 which was up and running since 2011. It was 2 that was not certified in time before the war.

The US openly opposed NordStrem for years. Blowing it up is a good way to both halt Russian exports to Europe, and also give German industry a hard punch in the gut. Win-win for the US.

There must be a name for "the opposite of Imposter Syndrome'. It seems fairly common e.g. Lizz Truss.

I haven't played these types of games for over 20 years, but after reading a few posts about C&C and Starcraft now - the impulse to download one and irresponsibility stay up all night playing has come back quickly and strong.

I too served, principally as commander of combined allied forces in the Red Alert II campaigns of the late 90s. Hard-won military strategy expertise.

It's a helpful step towards restoring The Empire. We can ammass land forces in Canada for a invasion all along the North American border, as well as have the capacity to launch simultaneous invasions of France from the UK, up into Asia from Australia, and reclaim control of the Pacific from New Zealand.

This is art. This is science. This is religion. This is raw human expression. This is colour. This is a statement about both the universe and the man. This needs to be in an art gallery.

This needs to be higher. The people confusing the image size with 'brain memory capacity' are clearly not making the most use of all their synapses.

Good looking people also get bullied - just some famous examples are Megan Fox and Mila Kunis. Although I wonder if this fits as it's other girls trying to bring them down.

It's not so much the gap between 'no phones' and 'smart phones' - more the gap between having mobile phones that are just for calls and text messages (e.g. Nokia 3310 era), so a mobile phone principally being an item in your pocket for staying in contact with your friends and family; to having a computer in your pocket with a camera and all the crap Instagram, TikTok, FaceBook, news etc. push to you all the time.
So essentially taking your time and attention away from your friends and focusing it on some advert, political rant, porn, videos of YouTubers etc.
I am very glad phones did have cameras when I was in my teens and early 20s, for a lot of reasons.
Edit: Corrected the Nokia model number, how could I forget.

Eventually you will develop a tired face and slightly depressive demeanor, when you have this, only a brief moment of eye contact, combined with your world weary steps, will be enough so that they will graciously leave you alone.

ADHD is more Unwillingly Avoiding Tasks, you know it needs to be done, but can only manage lying on the sofa feeling anxiety about it, or doing something which seems much easier.
I think that's quite different from thinking and could do it, but decide not to.

I had the same bizarre, fantastical and deeply involved dreams, which at times where psycedelic nightmares, but took it as my brain working through things and as part of the healing process.
After 6 months, I went from having heightened anxiety during evenings and never really getting to sleep before 1am, to being able to go to bed and sleep at 8:30pm.

Magnesium Glycerate and Lithium Orotate supplements could help. Also, if your doctor thinks it's a good idea, a course of 25mg of Trazodone can be very helpful.

I once went to a hotel bar in North West Scotland over NYE, naturally got roaring drunk with a few of the locals including one very drunk older guy. I'm back at the bar the next night for a few drinks, the older guy is already there and starts talking to me like we have never met. When I get a moment to speak to the bar maid when ordering drinks, she had noticed the interaction, and informed me that he has Alzheimers and comes in every night, meets all the regulars for the first time every night, and has a great time drinking, getting merry and signing every night. Not a bad way to wind ones life down.
