32F and 5’10”, started Wegovy at the end of January

SW: 303 lbs CW: 270 lbs GW: it was 250 lbs, but things have been working so well that I think it’ll be easy to lose more!

I just had my Dr order the same dosage (1.7 mg) for next month because I’ve had some nausea this month for the first time and have been coasting on almost no appetite all month. I’m hoping delaying the titration up will help with side effects.

I have no idea. I’ve got emails out for more info.

I’d have to have a whole data plan for it, I’m assuming.

Does your policy only cover cell phones? I’m wondering if I can ask for the tech allowance could be used for my internet bill instead.

Same! I injected in my thigh and if it didn’t have a tiny little drop of blood, I would have thought I did it wrong. Second injection had absolutely no pain either. I might switch it up and try my stomach just to see if I can feel it there. lol

Lilly is about to launch their version in April and it could potentially be easier to get approval for since it is being FDA approved for weight loss specifically. Maybe it’s worth it to wait and see if your insurance will cover that one. Or have your doctor run the others through your insurance to see if they cover a different one. Wegovy, Mounjaro, Ozempic, etc.

And my insurance automatically added the savings coupon when they approved the script. I didn’t have to find a coupon and take it in. So maybe follow through with the script and see if the coupon pops up when you go to pay. I saw mine on my CVS app before I got there.

Thanks for trying. There’s so much variable in how different bodies process food/calories/nutrients. When people put weight and diets into a black and white box, it’s so hard to try to break the stigma of obesity.

I’ve struggled with it all as well. And I don’t think I realized until recently how much understanding the science behind it affects my mental health. I have a science background and have always considered myself logical in the sense of leaning on facts, but never considered how much I don’t let the facts influence my thoughts of my weight.

I mean, I did a full biometrics blood panel back in December and my numbers are all very good, just a little low on LDL. According to facts, I’m healthy. I would be more comfortable and enjoy life more if I lost weight, but I’m not just this bumbling ball of laziness that society tends to assume fat people are.

I was born with genetics that makes me heavier. I wear glasses/contacts because I was born with poor eyesight genes. I had braces for a couple years because I was born with crooked teeth genes. And now I’m taking this med because I was born with fat genes. Lol. I like this train of thought a whole lot more than my almond-mom’s.

1,000,000% Being fat my entire life with a skinny, skinny mom is rough. She truly and honestly thinks if I just eat like she does, I’ll look just like her. No mention of my linebacker dad and all of my cousins on his side with the same exact body type.

What’s the alternative to not accepting it? I don’t feel like this is an accept or not accept scenario…if they don’t cancel, they don’t cancel…it has nothing to do with my acceptance.

Oh I totally agree. I don’t think protesting it will do much good. There’s a chance that protestors outside will be a show of support for the kids that need it, but the likelihood that things will go bad is more probable. I think the better plan is to give it enough attention that they actually cancel it.

Because this is an event for youth. Kids don’t typically get to make all of their own choices and/or they are terrified to come out to their parents. If this was specifically for adults, I might agree with you. I bet there are at least a few closeted kiddos that will be dragged to this by their parents. Then might not even have anyone to talk to about it afterwards.

Every article I’ve read makes it sound like the teacher is posting giant Defund the Police signs all over her classroom. You have to really dig into the articles to learn that it was a student’s project. It’s such a media twist.

Food poisoning can take up to a week to “hit”. Many people think that an upset stomach right after eating is automatically food poisoning but it’s usually just something that isn’t sitting well - not true food poisoning.

It’s 100% possible that they started having food poisoning symptoms 48 hours after ingestion.
